In over 50 years of loading 45ACP with hundreds of shooting discussions with other reloaders I have never heard of anyone using a Lee FCD for 45ACP.

I get mine from mil-tec. Rough and ready.

I agree with the others. Would be legal as it is factory machined into the slide not later attached. Check the weight though as it might go overweight.

The decision has been made. (Actually all were in agreement and no discussion was needed). Final call: One miss and a "P". There is some basis in the rules for all of the calls mentioned, BUT at the end of the day we need to remember two things: Don't be a "hard ass" and when possible "the benefit of the doubt goes to the shooter" Since the targets were far enough apart (One of the Committee was at the match) there is no question of "overlapping targets" so hitting target #3 twice is a "P". In violation of WBAS Stage Conventions. (knockdown targets may not be re-engaged) That leaves us with the question of 2 misses or 1?? Again the Stage Conventions state: Any knockdown target still standing.......will be counted as a miss. Only 1 target was still standing.

The committee is discussing this and I will post the final decision. Arguments for both calls BUT I am pretty sure how it will go.

Jorge, I wouldn't think so as it wasn't something carried by troops in the field. While legal in some modern matches I wouldn't allow it if I were the MD. However this piece of equipment has not been brought up before and at the moment it would be up to the MD.

It is my opinion that the structure of the WBAS organization will not change and there are no WBAS TG's so I don't see them (me included) becoming involved. It is a SEPARATE sport from CAS. Just that headquarters will be handling all of the management of the sport. Maybe they were tired of us being so independent??

I received an email from Misty telling me a few weeks ago. I don't know exactly what all their plans are but the structure for WBAS will be identical to CAS as far as us becoming a ROC instead of a controlling committee. Also all state and above matches will be handled by headquarters as well as keeping track of instructor qualifications, etc.

Marshall Stone. There is NO change to the WBAS rule about rifles and shotguns leaving the loading table on the updates I sent to Tex last week. I do however expect since SASS Headquarters is taking over Wild Bunch effective Jan. 1 they might change some things on their own. Hopefully not until 2021 and not much.

I have known Bill Wilson for over 50 years. We used to shoot at the same club. It is the only thing he does that I and the the vast majority of 1911 experienced shooters disagree with. DO NOT USE THEM!!

I handled one at SHOT this Jan. Nice, but I wouldn't buy one for the money. No idea about the magazines but I bet they are private labeled.

It is important to remember that both POP and GAMM are NOT official WBAS side matches. They are offered by some clubs and the rules for each can vary. It is always fun to bring out and shoot other firearms but the POP and GAMM shoots are local and the rules may vary. There are NO Official WBAS rules covering these activities. Shoot them and have fun but unlike BAMM which IS and OFFICIAL WBAS side match where the rules in the Shooters Handbook must be followed these matches are at the local club's discretion.

I'm old schooll. Go with the long time proven bullets. 230gr H&G from Penn Bullet. Been shooting them for many years.

Any 1911 I have in 45ACP that I can come up with an excuse to re-barrel has a KART barrel. They are the best kept secret in precision ACP shooting. I don't think you will need to work on the barrel you have, just check your loads. What works in the Springfield will be fine in your other pistols. I shoot using 4 different 1911's and after problems over the years I finally resorted to running all fired brass through a bulge buster. Solves 99% of all ammo problems. (you can also run fired rounds through one if necessary but I don't do it unless absolutely necessary.

I am concerned that the LFC die is making the case mouth too small and probably crimping it enough that the round is seating too far in the chamber. This is a guaranteed way to break an extractor. I would try a slightly shorter OAL (seating the bullet shoulder in the case a few thousands further). AW's comment about no freebore is probably right in this instance.

In my opinion you need to just readjust the Dillon crimping die a bit. I am NOT a fan of the Lee crimp die. If you get too much crimp the round will not be headspacing on the case mouth.

I just weighted 42 samples from Mernickle. The heaviest one was 2.074 grams. The thickest material allowed as it was .246" thick. An outlier in the group and NOT a production part. A preproduction sample. That translates to .073 ounces. The committee makes NO statement as to how the pads can be attached but everyone I have had contact with is using contact cement. If a shooter decides to use a small screw they are responsible for the weight, however, I doubt it will make the magazine over 3 ounces. But, just like power factor, I would recommend NOT pushing the limits.

Boggus is right. FIRING that overloaded round is ILLEGAL. Simple as that.

I agree completely with the posts by Legendary Lawman and Boggus Deal on this matter. I do not however see a need to write another "rule". It is perfectly legal to overload your magazine in any firearm in WBAS. We don't care if you do so. HOWEVER, if you leave that live round in the chamber or fire it there are penalties already clearly spelled out. WBAS shooters Handbook January 2019 version 12.1 Page 20: SDQ A live round left in the chamber of a long gun Page 20: SDQ A cocked pistol with a live round in the chamber leaving the shooters hand. Page 26 Procedural .......overloaded rounds that are fired will be a procedural. Any targets hit with that ammo will be scored as misses. No adjustments will be made to the raw stage time.

Vicious the SG you are referring to is the model 25. It is NOT LEGAL for Wild Bunch.

I agree with Dusty Boddams and Legendary Lawman. Gloves as worn by Palma and 3 position shooters as well as some PRS shooters are outside the intent of allowable gloves. Those mentioned already as being acceptable are fine.

Modifying the trigger guard on a pistol is NOT listed as an "allowable modification" so therefore it would be ILLEGAL.
