  1. just send it to LASSITER Tom's Single Action Shop in New Lebanon, OH 45345 He ONLY does phone calls 937-687-1039 He is the ONLY gunsmith in the country that actually fixes Lightnings
  2. The official rule ONLY addresses main match long guns. Firearms used in side matches: BAMM, Teddy Rosevelt , Doughboy, etc. are not addressed.
  3. this ^^^^^^^^ Trigger is too light for all but the finest quality 1911's used for serious target work. RIA's like most of the lower cost 1911's are machined to "less than perfect" quality. Even my bullseye 1911's have 3.5-4# triggers. There are plenty of "gunsmiths" but very few "1911 pistolsmiths".
  4. Adding to Boggus's comments. The only problem you might run into is WEIGHT. Some of the pistols with dust cover rails get pretty heavy. I remember one of the Springfield tactical models we checked was overweight.
  5. Try Johnny Meadows in AZ Only sells CAS competition ready firearms. I have never heard of anyone not VERY happy with his work. johnnymeadows55@yaho.com
  6. The compensator is illegal. SHB page 12 as per Elwood. Also slings on long guns are illegal. SHB page 27. As Elwood stated local club level matches can choose to be more lenient.
  7. Doc, for legitimate Krag info contact Guntraders in Redmond, OR. It is owned by our WBAS Committee member Texas Jack Morales. He deals in huge numbers of WWII and earlier firearms. He is our early firearms specialist for Wild Bunch. Will tell you the truth and if you want something he can probably find it. May take awhile in the current atmosphere.
  8. Baltimoreed 11754 There is no problem with you building a "trench gun" from parts for personal use HOWEVER such a gun would be ILLEGAL for use at a sanctioned WBAS match. Adding the handguard or other parts to make a normal model 12 resemble a "trench gun" is NOT listed as an allowable external modification in the rules. Also a sling is specifically listed as an illegal item on a WBAS main match long gun. Have fun with your build but the modified gun would not be legal for use in Wild Bunch.
  9. I prefer the Mernickle one because I can place 2 rifle cartridges in it and have blank spaces before my 45Colt broken cartridge extractor.
  10. After discussion and an education from Bubba the Committee is in complete agreement. The Philippine Kraig is ABSOLUTELY LEGAL for BAMM use in Wild Bunch.
  11. Doc, No. The modified Krag rifles would no be legal. The rifles have to be "as issued" with no modifications.
  12. I sent a note to Bubba to make the final decision on this rifle and the answer will be posted here in a few days. Like me, he doesn't do a lot of computer stuff so be patient.
  13. Trooper: Vectan A1 loads that look reasonable for MV and pressure: 45ACP 200 or 230 grain bullet: 4.5 grains 45 Colt 200 or 230 grain bullet: 6.0 grains Both loads are about 60% of max chamber pressure so hopefully won't cause any problems as a starting point. Based on Quickload data. No absolute guarantees but what I would use.
  14. Trooper I will check on Quickload later today. Will post results here.
  15. Jack, first of all that pistol is NOT legal at a sanctioned match. Aluminum frames are not allowed. My suggestion is not to waste another penny on the gun. Sell it !!! Make sure it isn't to a friend or they won't be anymore. Right now you can sell about anything for a good price. Go look for a Springfield mil spec.
  16. Agree with GJ. Rule states "after the first round is fired........" Off to unloading table, then back for a reshoot.
  17. Last word I got the new WBAS 2021 rules will be posted on the SASS website this week.
  18. Listen to Boggus. Thousands of us who have shot millions of 45ACP rounds know he is correct.
  19. Under the current WBAS rules only Magazine 3 is legal at a sanctioned match. Magazine 2 is the same length but the leather pad is attached to an existing base pad.
  20. 12 bore, I guess we have a failure to communicate. I know exactly what you are saying. I am saying that we are no going to allow any material that extends the length of a mil spec length magazine other than natural leather to keep in the spirit of Wild Bunch. It isn't about the overall length of the magazine as much as it is about the spirit of the game.
  21. 12 Bore, I fully understand your position about 1 type of pad not being an advantage over another but I just don't see us going there. The prohibition of any type of base pad was in effect for over 11 years. Base pads were not in use during the time period WBAS covers. Finally after years of complaints about pinched and bloodied hands we relented and decided that the leather pads some of us used since the 60's in IPSC, later USPSA would be allowed. There was still significant resistance but we finally allowed them as leather was at least period correct material. As J Frank says, at local matches I don't see an issue if the club agrees but at Sanctioned matches they would not be legal. We have worked very hard over the years to make the rules reasonable and as shooter friendly as possible while maintaining the initial objectives of WBAS. Welcome to the game.
  22. Twelve Bore: The answer to your question is NO The Wilson magazines have a "removable base pad" by definition that is a base pad and adding a leather top on it does not meet the requirement.
  23. NICE !!!! :) I actually read the article but can't really print it out to show others. Appreciate all you do for WBAS.
