  1. Not sure, where do you live ??? You might check with Boggus Deal here on the wire. Pecos Clyde was working part time for Johnny Meadows before Johnny moved and Clyde was doing some Model 12 work. Idaho Six Gun Sam's husband Mark is an awesome 12 smith but I don't think he does work for the general public, just a couple of close friends.
  2. I think this has run it's course. It is appreciated that PaleWolf clarified the CAS rule and its upcoming clarification.
  3. It has always been the objective of the WBAS Committee to reduce or eliminate many penalties that were in CAS but we can only go so far. There was considerable push back a couple of years ago that we had gone too far. So we are trying to strike a balance that favors the shooter but is still acceptable to the overall body and the management of SASS. With that understanding the rule as written will not be changed but we still give the shooter at least one option to avoid the penalty that CAS does not allow.
  4. I think another part of it was the "old guard" having a total aversion to discarding a long gun muzzle down. The modern clubs that use Founders Ranch use regular blue barrels to discard long guns. The WB weren't even interested in a MGM discard rack that Boggus brought to demonstrate. Maybe the new "advisors" will be more open to newer ideas??? Anyway I'm through fighting with the whole bunch after 11 years. Time for new blood to take over.
  5. Dusty, I am SO GLAD you used barrels to discard a long gun. I had tried for 3 years to get it at EOT but the Wild Bunch said NO !!! They didn't think plastic barrels was in keeping with the "Old West Look". They were adamant. I said it was about safety not looks. They didn't care. Keep up the good work.
  6. I agree 100% with Grouchy Spike. Systems similar to that are listed as examples of illegal recoil reducing devices. Chang it out and it is a legal modern pistol.
  7. Silvertip, when charging the pistol it IS LEGAL to cock the hammer first then rack the slide. Be careful of muzzle direction when doing it.
  8. Some shooters use the modified hammers on MODERN category guns. Seems to help. You might contact Boggus deal about it. I think he has modified some stock hammers.
  9. Dusty, Absolutely AMAZING match. I sure wish I could make it but weather and health prevent. Have FUN !!!!
  10. YES correct. No more printed Chronicles as I understand it.
  11. I run 3gun shoots here on my range every month. There are basically 3 different 3gun sponsoring organizations. Rules are slightly different. 3gun is setup as an unlimited round count sport to push speed. Same as some other handgun sports.
  12. Wild Bunch is a shooting competition. I think a better question is why does CAS allow you to make up misses??? No other shooting sport on the planet allows misses to be made up.
  13. In response to the question about a Lady winning overall AND Ladies category?? NO, the top shooter entered in the Ladies category of the correct age bracket is the TOP Lady. As for the issue of adding Senior to WBAS it already dilutes a very small shooter pool. I am opposed to adding any more Official categories. As we see in CAS there are a number of Unofficial categories such as Outlaw, Josie Wales, etc. If a local area wants to have an unofficial category, doughboy, etc. I have no problem with that. As we have seen with CAS though over the years even with a much larger shooter pool these Unofficial categories have never really caught on to the extent that they have been proposed as Official ones.
  14. Mine are set at 3#. And I agree with Boggus. Weight isn't as important as a good clean break.
  15. Trigger finger violations are an MSV Not a SDQ. Usually shooters are given 1 or with a less experienced shooter sometimes 2 warnings. Then the MSV's begin to pile up. There is NO limit on how many MSV's a shooter may get on a single stage or throughout a match. They DO NOT progress through the SDQ/MDQ process.
  16. Even with lead bullets in the cartridges used for BAMM the only target material that will stand up is AR550 or AR500. MGM targets in ID uses 550 and Action Target in UT uses 500. Some other target companies like Salute, etc. Use 500 0r 550. AR 450 will NOT stand up to the punishment. Since I have shot IDPA/USPSA and IDPA for years I don't find pasting up targets to be a real handicap.
  17. I don't remember seeing any, BUT, they ARE LEGAL for sanctioned WBAS matches. They should be for CAS but politics got in the way and the WB decided against them after a rowdy TG Summit meeting.
  18. In over 50 years of loading 45ACP with hundreds of shooting discussions with other reloaders I have never heard of anyone using a Lee FCD for 45ACP.
  19. I get mine from mil-tec. Rough and ready.
  20. I agree with the others. Would be legal as it is factory machined into the slide not later attached. Check the weight though as it might go overweight.
  21. The decision has been made. (Actually all were in agreement and no discussion was needed). Final call: One miss and a "P". There is some basis in the rules for all of the calls mentioned, BUT at the end of the day we need to remember two things: Don't be a "hard ass" and when possible "the benefit of the doubt goes to the shooter" Since the targets were far enough apart (One of the Committee was at the match) there is no question of "overlapping targets" so hitting target #3 twice is a "P". In violation of WBAS Stage Conventions. (knockdown targets may not be re-engaged) That leaves us with the question of 2 misses or 1?? Again the Stage Conventions state: Any knockdown target still standing.......will be counted as a miss. Only 1 target was still standing.
  22. The committee is discussing this and I will post the final decision. Arguments for both calls BUT I am pretty sure how it will go.
  23. NEVER NEVER NEVER use a buffer !!!!!!! Just trouble waiting to happen.
  24. Serenity is the MD for Winter Range. She is the Ambassador for Canada. Her husband is Legendary Lawman a Committee member and new Chairman since Jan. 01.
