Ok the scout bag up the brass do they sort between pistol and in another bag rifle or is all in one bag? If they are seperating the pistol and rifle brass, do you have you buy both or can you buy just the pistol brass? Or just the rifle brass? Is this how it will be done at EOT!

Iirc it would pass for a modern gun but definitely not a traditional gun. The grip safety and hammer are not legal for traditional along with the sights and mag.

iirc the penally for an over loaded gun was removed a few years back if it ever applied to wbas in the first place. you have to you lay the gun down at the unloading table to clear it as long as it is action open or closed on a spent round. if you pick it up work the action and the first thing out is a loaded round you earned a dq.

get 230 grain bullets rather than 200 grain it will be easier to make power factor.

That's great your number almost out numbers the number signed up for the four corners regional from a email I received this weekend we had between 70 & 80 from four states signed up for the match later this month in regular CAS.

My point is what makes it a trench gun is the parts not the manufacturer. What if another importer,maker decided to make trench guns like they have with regular 97s and 87s would those be legal. And since both my 97 s have had barrels cut and work to mark them cowboy ready prior to me getting them to use in WBAS. How do I know one of them didn't start out as a trench gun years ago. A butt stock swapped etc and such. I just have a hard time seeing how adding the heat shield which is legal one one gun can be illegal on another. It like saying your boots are illegal because you had them resoled with the soles of another legal boot.

I understand what is written in black and white but I don't understand the difference between a winchester 1897 with a heat shield and bayonet lug from winchester and a winchester 1897 that had the same heat shield with bayonet lug added after it left the factory. What's the difference?

BJ, while the To might not care I guess that HJ does. I tried selling the part here and they deleted it twice. The HJ finally conceded that if I was to put a disclaimer that the part could only be used to restore an existing trench gun but not to build a new one at that point I decided it wasn't worth it. I also decided to vote with my wallet and refrain from shooting any WBAS match because of the stringent rule interpretations by the committee. I can not see the difference between a trench gun from Winchester or norinco and one that uses the same parts by a gunsmith or shooter.

I'll second that shot with them at EOT.

Finally I got an explanation. But I'll never agree with it 100% since I'm personally having problems with the proper heat shield ie one that came off a 97 to begin with being put on another 97 for this game but I will oblige you on it so I guess I got stuck with this part. If it's legal on one gun I don't see what makes it illegal on another gun of the same basic type. With All the things that are allowed to the 1911s that make them far from the basic gun of the day. I guess now that model 12 s are legal and available the 97 will be a smaller part of the game. Remember that is what this is.

So if the rules state civilian or military style why is a civilian converted to military illegal?

After looking at the original photos I realize by barrel is to short got it to fit and still have enough room to take town then shotgun if I desired. So I'm going to sell it as I had planned to originally. But it appears to have come off an winchester not a norinco.

Several years ago I ended up with a heat shield for a 97 trench gun with the bayonet lug and sling swivel. I tried it on one 97 back then and the barrel was to large well today I was playing with it and slide it on my other 97. It went on most of the way it'll take some work to finish the installation if this was a solid frame I feel there would be no problems with the setup. But since it is a takedown model and I'm I guessing none of the trench guns were take down models this might raise some eyebrows. No to my question to the rules committee will mt 97 take down model with the 97 trench gun heat shield legal under WBAS rules?

Gene is correct about a 73 ejection of brass. I use to wear a Kepi while shooting bp rounds after receiving several blisters on the back of my neck and lower I learned to attach my wild rag so that it covered everything and still get spurned every now and then I finally switched to a cowboy hat and it catches brass on every stage.

My first military costume was Hollywood military with strips on the shirt and such as you saw in the john ford/john Wayne trilogy .. It wasn't until I did some research that I found out the real look and had to take the strips off and everyone asked me if I got busted, and I had to explain. While sass isn't historically accurate it is fun to try to dress correctly and such. My guns now are USFAs SAAs but originally I shot Rugers and still do from time to time but I like my USFAs a lot. But ROAs are the only C&Bs I'll shoot the rest are way too much trouble to setup and you'll still have troubles and my ROAs are like shooting cartridge guns once loaded and all I did was swap out five of the six nipples with tresso ones on each gun.

Red dot, I have used, clays I have used, titegroup, unique are others I have used. My main smokeless powder I'd trail boss for cartridges, or clays red doe for shotgun makes a nice low recoil CAS round. Check back some and you will find that several use trail boss in both 45 cartridges. They even posted the two loads that make pf.

I reload each of my CAS and WBAS cartridges and some shotshell with bp. I use the Dillon 550 for the handgun ammo the rifle and brass shotshell get loaded on a rcbs rock chucked II regular shotshell get loaded on a MEC 600 iirc I believe that is the low end progressive press for shotgun I've been tempted to add a case feeder or get a 650 with one but the need for reloading materials all way use the funds so far. But the 550 can knock out some ammo. I've seen you tube videos where they modify a 550 or 650 with a bullet feed also.

Ali mo fin you don't shoot the 1911 you'll never get good at it. Yes you had fun your way. Since this is done every match try it with the 1911 and get better each time just a thought.

Known ing that john browning designed several guns for Winchester and never seeing either a win mod 12 or a browning mod 12 are these similar and is the browning model 12 legal for WBAS?
