  1. Only one, really. Wild Bodie Tom’s is available from his wife, Vaya Con Dios. Arlenekister29@gmail.com
  2. I’m pretty certain that ‘97 wood won’t fit but there is plenty of wood available. I keep quite a selection handy.
  3. Nickel is fine. So is stainless. Pretty much any finish is legal as long as it doesn’t offer grip enhancement.
  4. Screws are legal to attach the pads. However, the 1/4” total still applies.
  5. Traditionally, 16# is the factory spring for a .45 Auto and unless you have a MUCH heavier than that in it, you should not have the issue you're having because of the spring. I run 15-16# with my light loads and never have the issue. As Tully mentioned check your extractor tunnel. I see a lot of issues from that being dirty. Now is the Model 12 running?
  6. At a cursory glance, it looks legal in Modern.
  7. Look right at the top of this forum. Happy Jack posted about it on the top of the rules forum.
  8. does the one in the middle and the one on the right go all the way through the plug? im not seeing how they work... The short one doesn’t extend through the spring plug. It’s spring loaded which makes it illegal. The middle one is full length and difficult to detect without disassembling the gun.
  9. Tungsten weighs about twice as much as same size in steel. PITA to machine too. I bet!
  10. We have a winner! I did not realize just how heavy these were until I found one in a gun...
  11. The first two, yes.
  12. Can anyone tell me why these three guide rods are illegal?
  13. PM sent!
  14. No mods needed to load 6 other than removing the wooden plug in the mag tube. Personally, I don’t use the flag. Nor do I “tilt” the gun. I just run it! My new firing pin will be available soon that will address what I consider the only weak point of the Model 12.
  15. No because the Model 12 is so much smoother and faster than the 97. It’s in technique. Why do you think the winners of Winter Range and EOT use Model 12s?
  16. If you take the stock off, there should be a number stamped into the face where it meets the receiver, if it’s original. I believe it could be a factory stock that’s been refinished or one from another Model 12.
  17. If not, let me know. I have a couple.
  18. At EOT this year, of the top eight shootoff in both ladies and men, there were only two shooters who used the '97. Maybe that should tell you something. Model 12s were used by the winners in all categories, except maybe one.
  19. Boomstick, as long as didn’t move with a cocked, loaded gun or let it leave your hand, that’s a no call.
  20. 3” shells cycle through my 2 3/4” guns like they were made for them. But I am certain the chambers are only 2 3/4”. It’s because of the crimped length. Just don’t fire them!
  21. Couple of common reasons, both bad news: Someone lengthened the chamber (or installed a 3" chambered barrel) Gun is heavily worn and chamber has been blown out so that now 3" shells chamber. I got one with a blown chamber, and had it sleeved by a gunsmith who has now passed on. Is his ejection port large enough to cleanly pass 3" fired shells? Sometimes "gunsmiths" "fixed" that also if they lengthened the chamber. Good luck, GJ A 3” shell will easily drop into a 2 3/4” chamber as most 3” shells are only around 2 5/8” long when crimped. It’s only when fired that it’s too long for a 2 3/4” chamber. Saved a screenshot. No need to go edit it.
  22. I’d like to see pics of your bolt. I can’t seem to post any here. Trading off that Mossberg for a 12 would be good.
  23. Biggest difference is square face and round face. Second is the cartridge stop on the bottom. I’ll see if I can send a pic.
  24. If the new carrier isn’t made for a flag, it would need machined. I don’t use a flag. Just one more part to get in the way. You also need a 2 3/4” bolt, which I have.
