Boomstick Bruce started following My new Mernickle rig and Model 12 "trench gun" question

So I've gone over the new rule book more than once looking for an answer to this question and came up with nothing. The old rule book said my (now back up) model 12 wasn't legal with the barrel shroud and bayonet lug installed due to it not being an "original" us military trench gun, but the new rule book says nothing about it soooo.... can I put the aftermarket shroud and bayonet lug back on my "someone made this into a fake trench gun before i bought it" model 12?

I'm right handed, I thought the belt was for a lefty but it's not. It's designed to be buckled in the back which up until I put my 2023 state championship buckle on it, I didn't like that. Now I can buckle it in the back with almost no trouble with the new buckle on it. I've spent some time drawing and doing mag changes and wow this is so much better than the rig I made from old duty gear I've been using for 5 years! I've cut 2-3 seconds off my mag change times! Man I love this set up!

Yeah, I figured that out last night messing with it. Not sure how I like that though. Now I feel stupid that I sent them a message that "they" screwed up...lol... oh well, at least now I have a funny story to tell at the next match...

Well my new Mernickle WB rig showed up today and, well, the mag pouches are on the wrong side, it's a left handed belt and I'm right handed...lol... Only I have this kind of luck. Other than the fact it's useless to me, it looks great...lol... I already sent them an email. Thankfully I'm done shooting WB until March so there's plenty of time to get the belt i need.

I have a High Standard model 200 thats stamped "LVPD 42983" i got in a trade for of all things, a hi point 40cal that i traded an eig 22 saa for... I wish I could use it in a WB match... Its part of my "police gun" collection. Maine state police HK45, WV state police Glock 19, AACO MD colt police positive 38spl, south saxony (germany) police Walther PP .32acp, 1918 police Luger P08 9mm, and my Hopkins and Allen Safety Police 38S&W from some town in TN (i forgot what town it was from) I got on auction arms 10 or so years ago for $25 shipped from a charity auction for the town raising money to restore the old jail/fire dept...

Wilson 1911s are too heavy for any wb category. A buddy weighed his for me @ 43.9 with a mag. My rock island (yes a know it has hogue laser grips, it's not a WB gun) it weighs 42.29 with a mag. So all I'm I'm asking is just add 2 ounces to the 1911 for both categories to alleviate the chance of someone unknowingly using an illegal gun. We're allowing carbon fiber magazine tubes on 38cal 60pf rifles and now there's an article in the chronicle about allowing semi automatic rifles in WB soo what's 2 ounces on a 1911?

Can we just raise the weight limitation on these pistols? If a factory built 1911 is "too heavy" that seems kind of problematic... I'm sure I'm not the only person who never would have guessed i was very very nearly over the weight limit. + 2 ounces for both traditional and modern looks like it would cover all factory built 1911s. My rock island is too heavy for even modern. How can that be? How many people are running tisas, rock islands, norincos (also overweight for modern) and others and don't even know it? I'd bet a ruger sr1911 is way over weight.

Overview of 1911 Traditional models

Holy crap! I ordered a postal scale from Amazon and weighted it... I never would have guessed it weighed this much!! I just ordered an aluminum mainspring housing from hogue. It's not overweight but so close I don't want to take a chance someone's scale is off in case it ever does get weighed. -
WB Legal 1911 Grip Safety for GI Style Hammer Spur?
Boomstick Bruce replied to July Smith's topic in Wild Bunch Rules Forum
Yes it's chrome. I wish it was only nickel so it wouldn't look like the bumper from a 58 Buick but it was a gift, not a lot of people buy me guns for gifts and I love it! -

I certain that's a misprint, there is no way it weighs that much. that would mean it weighs more than a hi point 45 (35oz) and only slightly less than my .50 caliber L5 desert eagle (48oz)... -
WB Legal 1911 Grip Safety for GI Style Hammer Spur?
Boomstick Bruce replied to July Smith's topic in Wild Bunch Rules Forum
My problem is the edge of the safety below where the hammer would be when cocked, (See pic) digs into my hand drawing blood (other pic is of the scab right now). this happened at the WV state shoot weekend before last and I'm certain it was causing me to flinch every time i shot since it literally hurt to shoot. I found one on ebay that was more rounded so i replaced the factory one with that since i cant file or grind on the original since its hrome plated and will cuase i bigger issue later down the road when it starts to peel. Hopefully this elevates the issue... -

I run a chrome iver johnson 1911a1 for traditional with a fitted wilson barrel https://iverjohnsonarms.com/store/p172/1911A1_CHR45WP.html I love this 1911! My only complaint is the original barrel was chrome plated and just like every other chrome lined/plated barrel, it had horrible accuracy so i had wilson fit a barrel to it and do an action job but since they couldn't replace the hammer, trigger or grip safety, they didn't do anything to the action saying "its nearly perfect the way it is". I put a 20lb mainspring in it and really don't know why...lol... For the money, its an amazingly great 1911! I have 2 other 1911s (rock island and Auto ordnance thompson). I also have previously owned 2 kimbers and this Iver is superior to all of them in every way.
