  1. Did you read the title of your original post? The one where you said the scoring system sucks?
  2. What exactly is the point you’re trying to get across? Like I said, you started out attacking the scoring method. Then, match directors for not showing performances. Go look at the scores from EOT the last few years in the side match called cowboy. Wild Bunch is the main match. It only shows the times. Doesn’t show penalties. Same with Winter Range. Both quite successful matches. Again, what exactly is the point? The Rules Committee over the last few years has made lots of changes listening to what shooters have spoken about. What is it that would be so simple to change?
  3. And here we see one reason that this sport isn't growing. A simple thing that would let shooters see more about how the shooters perform in a match and are unwilling to do it. We had some new shooters at out last WB match. They don't see how what they did reflected on the score sheet. But again this is just my opinion. Why did you hide the scores from them? If they want to see how they did, show them! What exactly are you trying to get to here? One post, you’re complaining about the scoring system. In another, it’s match directors not show the minutiae of shooter’s performance. Then, you say your the match director not showing shoote’s scores. And for most of us, it’s not all about winning or who won but the is a competition. Someone is going to be first and someone will be last. Of course, we could go like Cowboy is going. A category for everyone and a participation trophy for everyone who shows up. In that case, we may as well throw out the timer and the shooting and just give out the trophies at registration.
  4. A stage dq is just that. A stage dq. Not a match dq. I believe the better thing to do, as we are trying, is to do away with stage dqs. It’s either serious enough to warrant a match dq or it’s a no call. As to the scoring methods, if you want to see penalties go to the match director and ask. Usually, it is very simple for them to print that for you or email it to you.
  5. And Lanky, just so you understand, that any time during the match, if your posse marshal feels your ammo isn’t up to minimum, they can pull your ammo and test it.
  6. GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, BOGUS DONE A GREAT JOB AS MATCH DIRECTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, my friend!
  7. I want to thank all who shot Wild Bunch at Winter Range. I was told that if we can get more registrations, we can get another day and more stages. Please spread the word!
  8. Does anyone have Gilly Boy's email or can share mine with him? Thanks!
  9. I’m certain it is but Goatneck will be along shortly to verify.
  10. Loading into the magazine tube on the clock is going backwards! If you must load on the clock, the port is the only way to go! Grab two shells, load one into the port holding one shell in between your thumb and forefinger. Close action, fire with your middle finger. Open action, tods in second shell, close action and fire.
  11. The Model 12 has half the moving parts as a ‘97. The 12 is more reliable and faster. It usually holds 6 rounds without modifications. In my opinion, the only pro to running a ‘97 is if you already have one.
  12. Goatneck can answer this and shall be along to. He is graciously handling the BAMM match again for me this year.
  13. Badge Pusher, my favorite is the one from Brownell's. https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/handgun-tools/staking-tools/1911-plunger-tube-staking-tool-accessories-prod79068.aspx
  14. Baltimore, as I mentioned earlier, I haven’t seen a need to tilt the gun. If anything, I probably tilt mine in the wrong direction by accident. If you’re running into chambering issues, it’s likely other problems. I’ll see if I have video of how a Model 12 should work. I have looked at the cascity site. Unfortunately, there is way too much misinformation over there, regarding WBAS and SASS. It’s worse than the SASS Wire, which is full of people who haven’t shot a SASS match in years, if ever.
  15. I would also make sure the extractors in the bolt are clean and working properly. I find that I don’t need the flag Goatneck refers to but if I had Model 12 issues, my gun would get shipped to him to get fixed. I haven’t seen anyone “tilting” the guns one way or another but what do I know.
  16. Thank you, HJ. A much better explanation than mine.
  17. Yes, sir. That is the current interpretation as pointed out earlier. We are doing our best to rid the WBAS handbook of ambivalent and frivolous rules and penalties. The bodily oirfices and cleavage rules are there for other safety concerns and likely to stay. A lot of others are going away.
  18. Baltimore, I'll glaly pay for a copy of that and for postage. Also, you may want to get in touch with Shell Stuffer and Back 40. They are our "Bois form Illinois". They are the WB Ambassadors for that region, fine shooters and good guys. Just don't tell them I said that last part.
  19. I believe in the first and third reply, those with the final word on WBAS rules answered the question. Happy Jack, I think we found a few more rules we can write out of the handbook next year.
  20. Abilene, per current rules in both sports, yes, if you can safely correct the situation while on the clock to avoid penalties, you may do so. However, for your original question, the simplest, safest and smartest thing would be to get a cartridge slide from one of the fine leathermakers that support this sport that holds a couple rifle rounds and 2-4 shotshells and avoid the confusion at a match.
  21. Abilene, it is MY opinion that while it would be legal to carry it to the line that way and stage for possible use, see the top of page 15 in the handbook, it would not be legal to use it from the mag pouch during the stage. That being said, why would you give up a mag pouch for one shotgun shell? Carry a full load of magazine and the shell in a pocket to stage as necessary.
