  1. Take a closer look at it. I doubt it was used for wax bullets in .45 Auto or blanks. I've seen some brass with larger than usual flash holes Haven't found a problem.
  2. I do have a connection to Lucas and I am here to tell you, it is the best I have found! I have tried most everything out there and while I have only found one or two that are really bad, I've never found one that was really great, until I found Lucas. I have used Lucas products in the automotive industry for 30 years and found it to be really good stuff. When I found the Outdoor line, I was ecstatic! Two overall national championships for me, several state championships for Lady Jane and me, a category world championship for her and numerous other wins, the Lucas products work. Period. They came to me when they were starting their shooting team a couple of years ago and asked me to be their cowboy action representative. I have been very lax lately about promoting the product line because I have been so busy but it works! Oh, Dusty. Lady Jane and I run our 1911s about 3-4000 rounds before cleaning.
  3. As mentioned, it's likely dirty or gunked up with bad lube. I use Lucas Oil outdoor line cleaner and oil. For the slide, I use their lightest oil possible. When I let it go too long, even it gets sticky.
  4. Me, too, Chance. At least since I started!
  5. CK, yes, sir, that is what I am doing now. I am working on a couple of Wild Bunch specific models. Our Signature and Premier grades would work in modern with minor changes but I am working a Modern and Traditional gun package that perfectly fits the bill.
  6. Thanks, Dusty. If you will look closely at the barrel, while not fully finished, it Has some amazing technology to it. Take one of your barrels and compare. More info to come later.
  7. Coming, my friend! Coming! Got to pay the bills first!
  8. Mica Maguire won the Traditional Category at Winter Range last month shooting one. If I am not mistaken, Capt Sam Evans won overall shooting one. While some of them I have seen can be ammo sensitive, most of them run extremely well!
  9. Captain Sam Evans is a fine friend and shooter. Its always a great pleasure to shoot against him. Congratulations, my friend on a job well done!
  10. No need to. Good to see you on here, Chance!
  11. Silvertip, I didn't see your name on the list the other day! You will be missed, my friend! Boggus
  12. Hey now! Who is calling who short?!?!?
  13. And one thing I've noticed. We don't have enough magazines! Lady Jane and I use Colt magazines and could use a few dozen more!
  14. Crappy pic as I drove by this morning.
  15. Norfleet will do an outstanding job in this role! A great shooter, a great teacher and a great guy!
  16. While recoil can certainly be perceived differently by different people, the clock tells the tale. When the split times between shots and the accuracy stays the same, recoil reducers don't make a difference.
  17. Wilson system on top with nylon buffer pad. Springco system on bottom. The Wilson has a SOLID, full length guide rod. Perfectly legal in Modern. The Springco has a springloaded, recoiling absorbing guide rod which is not legal in Wild Bunch. Having used them both extensively, I cannot see a recoil reduction. I have seen the nylon buffers go south.
  18. Having used the Wilson system and the Springco system extensively in 3 gun and other shooting sports, I cannot see a recoil reduction with either. However, I have seen the plastic shock buffs cause problems. With the gun properly set up, you don't need the padding to prevent battering. Paying attention to springs is much more important. Like Joe said, I believe the Wilson system to be legal in Modern.
  19. Mmmmm, that would be the trigger ways, I would suppose. Even the mag well is a long reach for a mill. Trigger track and magwell are the easy machining. And you wouldn't use a mill.
  20. Happy Jack, we will be at SHOT! Look forward to seeing you!
  21. You got that right, Dusty! Every day!! And I didn't dig the ore or forge it. A man has to know his limitations!
  22. Some folks like to use google and Wikipedia for their information. Some of us build 1911s. My future Wild Bunch 1911. There will be some very interesting internal technology in this gun!
  23. I've been running an 18 lb spring. I have fun a 16 lb.
  24. It's usually not a problem. As a T/O, I try to remind a Model 12 shooter to declare it. I use a bandana for my own self. There are some T/Os who ho out of their way to not help the shooter but they are extremely rare. Remember, Model 12s have won Winter Range and EOT for the last few years.
