  1. Yes, sir, Marshall. I apologize for leaving you off that list. And Matt Masterson resigned form it. I know that when Nellie Blue gets her dad a little more settled down, she will get us all up to date!
  2. There are at least 4 others I know of, off the top of my head. Wild Bodie Tom and Nellie Blue are Ambassadors at large. Goatneck Clem out of Haslet, Texas. And myself, Boggus Deal, of New Mexico Territory.
  3. Absolutely, HJ! I had the pleasure of having Sassy Teton Lady on my posse and would have had Claudia Feather. I greatly enjoy shooting with both. We rally missed Claudia and our thoughts and prayers are with her. I also know that there was some lady visitors this year that are not going to miss shooting it next year! Boggus
  4. I must respectfully disagree with my friend, Fredrick Jackson Turner. I felt it was a great mix of targets; big and close, small and distant. Lots of freedom for the shooter to shoot in their direction of choice. The only complaint anyone on my posse had was a lady who had a hard time with the high round count for 5 stages a day. At the end of the day, she was suffering. Maybe if it was 4 stages a day over 3 days would have helped. I would love to shoot the match again next week, as long as I get ammo loaded and guns clean... And in an effort to learn, FJT, what would folks liked to have seen? Different distances? Sizes? More Movement? Less movement? Most anyone that speaks to me about WBAS for more than a few seconds learns that I want to see it grow and prosper, so, I ask these questions to help. Best, Boggus
  5. Ladies and gentlemen, I have sent an email to all that had emailed me about the class. In case I missed someone, it is being held at the Silhouette Range Stat House at Ben Avery Shooting Park Sunday the 22nd at 8:00 am sharp. The class is $25.00. Please bring a pencil or pen, pad, water and a snack if you want. Please email me if you have not received an email from me. tboggus@hotmail.com Best, Boggus Deal
  6. Evil Roy, Thanks for the updates! Boggus
  7. That was a BOTTLE at SHOT not a bobble..... Look forward to it, my friend.
  8. HJ, as soon as I can get a sample of a traditional hammer, I will get one to you all for evaluation. I had one last week at SHOT and should have shown it to you. Just not enough time.... Thanks!
  9. Here are a couple pics of the hammer installed.
  10. Yep, the idea has been around for years.
  11. Here are a couple of very crappy pics of the idea I am involved in. First, let me say, I take absolutely no credit for this. A good friend of mine has been working on this for several years now. I am just helping get it to production. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Austin Bealerht devised this many, many years ago. The same technology will be available on a 1911A1 type spur hammer, even if it doesn't become WB legal, it will be on the open market.
  12. Silvertip, this design, along with a modified firing pin stop, came from Austin Beahlert many years ago. It absolutely decreases the force required to rack the slide! I won't agree with the 31% claim. As J Frank noted, I have been working on something similar and plan to get samples to the WBAS committee as soon as possible!
  13. Abe, Maybe you could have stopped them but they were probably too fast.
  14. Folks, If everyone hasn't seen it yet, General Grant aka Boyd Davis passed away this morning. More info over on the SASS Wire.
  15. To quote Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory, "I'm not crazy. My mother had me tested." I personally prefer to hold the trigger back as I close the gun. Then, I feel to make sure the action slide is free.
  16. John Boy, that is all well and good that someone is watching at the LT but the critical part is at the firing line. Declaring it on the line and showing it is what matters.
  17. Allie, As I said, it's ultimately the shooter's responsibility, but if a T/O can help a shooter, they should. This was a really new shooter and quite nervous and that is exactly when I think an T/O really needs to give the shooter as much help as possible. I have let Wild Bunch shooters start without a magazine in their 1911 and cowboy shooters start without shotgun shells on their body. I always feel bad about it after the fact. Boggus
  18. Abe, I know of one lady here local who has earned two from the same T/O. I also know of at least one at Winter Range last year. Granted, most T/Os try to help and it is ultimately, the shooter's responsibility but we get in our zone before shooting the stage and it can slip our minds as shooters. Henceforth, the flag!
  19. Allie, As bad as I hate to say it, there are T/Os who will not help you remember to declare it on the line. I consider it part of my obligation to the shooter to help them. Just like if I see they don't have a magazine in the gun or not enough on their belt. The flag is just a reminder to everybody on the line, T/O and shooter, included. BD
  20. You do NOT have to put the safety on. And you don't "have" to rack it at the loading table. You just must make sure to show that the hammer is down on an empty chamber before starting the stage.
  21. I know that as soon as the Model 12 was made legal, I relegated my 97 to backup status and haven't looked back!
  22. How does Remington rifle's accuracy hold up to other rifle's accuracy? How does Beretta shotguns pattern against others? Not trying to be a smarta** but I am sure most of them will shoot well enough for our sport. As with any product, you can get a bad one. My well used Colt 1911A1 outshoots me. And as it has won a few state championships and placed in the top five of a couple national championships, I'd say its plenty accurate. We aren't shooting a bull's eye sport.
