  1. Thanks for jumping in and helping out J. Frank. You are a good choice for an Ambassador. I am sure you will be a big asset for Wild Bunch and will bring your enthusiasm and hard work to bear to help it grow and prosper. Congrats to you.
  2. I am going to need some help manning the pistol, rifle, and shotgun speed side matches. Should be pretty easy duty.
  3. As the man said. I would practice and have B as a plan for any instance where you have extra rounds at the end of a stage. Usually happens if you have a malfunction or jam and have to load another mag to finish and end up with rounds in the pistol. Keep it simple. Don't sweat the match too much just a version of a monthly match with more people. Safety is the main issue to be concerned with. Finger off the trigger while changing mags rf clearing jams, muzzle control, muzzle control.
  4. Will and Capt call. Your help and scopes will be welcomed on Monday afternoon after the main match stages on LR BAMM. Pecos Clyde has said he will try to round up a couple of scopes but come anyway as we will need more help and enough people that the spoters can shoot also. I am still short on Tuesday for the speed side matches so if you want to show up there it will help. I think we are going to make it. Thanks to everyone who is helping. ER
  5. I still need some help manning the side matches. You will have time to shoot. I will try to rotate folks. ER
  6. Union jack. How about helping out on Speed Shotgun on Tuesday. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  7. I think his gun is gummed up from the lube. That seems to be the only thing that gets mine gun to get sticky. Same way a .22 does and for the same reason. I run Oregon Trail 230 round nose with no problem except the gun gets gummy after a couple thousand rounds. I can lube it and it will keep running but I think the build up is hard on the gun as far as tolerances. I use Vihta Vuori N-320 which I think is the best there is. I have tried everything as far as powder. I can soft brush the chamber clean and have no leading that I can see. I get what I think is lube build up on the slide. I am going to start cleaning after 500 to 1,000 rds now as I think it is easier on the gun. I have gone over 3,000 by squirting oil on things when they get sticky.
  8. Will. How about helping out on the Speed Rifle side match Tuesday after the main match? I still need some side match help. Anyone else?
  9. Silvertip. I must have missed your offer. How about assisting Garrison Joe on the Team Shotgun Monday? I am going to try to get as much help as possible so we can rotate out to shoot. Since we do Speed on Tuesday and Long Range and Shotgun on Monday we should be able to do ok. Still need more help. ER
  10. I am going to have to change the Long Range BAM, 1911 Long Range, and Shotgun Team shoot to Monday after the main match stages as opposed to Tuesday as I announced before. We have to get out of the way on the long range bays so WR can start setting up long range for CAS Tuesday. The WB Speed events will be Tuesday after the main match stages. I still need side match help. I want to have enough help so that folks working the side events can rotate out to shoot the matches as well. I will have WR email out details that I have to all registered WB shooters very soon to be sure everyone is informed.
  11. Shooting any WB match clean is a big deal. I have shot a bunch of clean matches but not even one local WB match clean. Drives me crazy.
  12. The stages are still being refined as we speak but as of now I will give you the round count. This is main match only and does not include side matches, warm up matches, etc. Bare minimum. It also does not include any changes to the stages which may have to be done to make them work better. Don't be crying to us because you did not bring enough rounds if things change. Pistol 205 rounds, Rifle 79 rounds, Shotgun 56 rounds. One stage has 25 pistol rounds and the rest are 20. The rifle is used on all but one stage. There are stages with 6,5,4 8 and 10 shotgun rounds. Be prepared. Please also remember you cannot make up shotgun, rifle or pistol misses but you can reload a jammed or thrown out round. Be prepared. Again this is not a for sure finale until the match actually starts. Side matches as of now. Speed Pistol 10 rounds. Speed Rifle 10 rounds. Speed Shotgun 6 rounds. Team Shotgun 4 rounds per team member. Long Range BAM 10 rounds. Long Range 1911 5 rounds. We still need more side match help. Any questions just ask and I will try to answer.
  13. Pretty much what Bogus said. Shotgun targets usually same distance as for the CAS match. The Hostage and Dueling Tree are 6 inch and are usually shot with the pistol at no more than 10 yards with the rifle further out. We usually have no complicated orders to shoot. Last year a Nevada sweep was the most difficult sweep. The most difficult thing last year was the cluster of targets and keeping track of where you were with pistol mag changes. We have to use most of the targets for the CAS match so the changeover from WB to CAS is short and sweet. The hard targets are the rifle targets with the pistol and the few smaller targets we add such as the Dueling Tree. I'll tell you the secret to doing well. Go real fast and hit all the targets. Back 40. I tried to answer your email but was blocked. We do not publish the stages before the match as it is Winter Range policy not to do so. I would not worry about the stages are they are very straight forward. Most local matches are more difficult. Exact target placement is not decided until they are set up for the match so you will be seeing them about the same time as the rest of us. The real secret to doing well in simply hitting the targets as fast as you can as in any match. It is easier to miss in a WB match as the targets are smaller and/or further out.
  14. I hope everyone has an excellent year.
  15. This year will be similar to last year but with less pistol shots. We responded to many who had said they wanted lots of pistol last year but they did not mean it I guess. The stages will be mostly 20 pistol shots per stage but there might be a stage or two with more so bring enough mags. Be prepared to shoot some smaller targets as well as the standard WR targets. There will be hostage and dueling trees as always so sight in your guns and practice some smaller targets. We will as usual shoot the rifle targets with pistol as well. Sign up if you have not. They are pretty sure the match will sell out. I still need more help with the side matches.
