  1. Yeah.... Nothing like the 435 grainers out of my 500 Linebaugh.
  2. 230 grain are less recoil than 200............ I have shot some 300 grain in 45 acp but in a revolver. Not sure I can get them to feed in a bottom feeding, brass chunker!
  3. Yes, the weight restrictions are for all categories. As to the reasons, extra weight equals less recoil.
  4. My opinion, and its worth exactly twice what you paid for it, is there should be some small and far targets. And some big and close targets. And some small and close targets, And some big and far targets. Some flyers. Some knock downs. More pistol and shotgun and less rifle. Some challenging scenarios but not brain teasers that are P traps. Lots of transitions. Lots of movement. A lot of freedom for the shooter to choose from where to shoot and in what order to shoot guns. Just a few of my thoughts, Allie.
  5. Brother, didn't take them as negative. Just wanting to know how to improve it.
  6. Desert Pete, I'm sorry you felt our posse was tense. I certainly didn't want anyone to go away from that and not feel they had the best time ever. Please feel free to PM me or post here anything you did not like as I would like to see if we can address it in the future. You do have to remember, Winter Range is the National Championship of Wild Bunch and not only did we have the overall winner on our posse, we had two past winners and a couple who could have won this year. People are going to take it a little more serious than a lot of other matches. Again, please feel free to PM me, call me 505-220-4922, email me tboggus@hotmail.com or post here what ever we can do to make it more enjoyable experience.
  7. WBT, some folks are fast and some folks are halfast.........
  8. If it has a guide rod, replace it with GI type parts. Lighter stocks. Aluminum or polymer main spring housing.
  9. A BIG thank you to Tom and Two Dot for doing all of the work! As to the specifics, I would guess most of the pistol bullets weigh 230 and run around 725-750 fps. Second most popular would be 200 at a little over 800 fps. This is just speculation as I have not polled folks or run the chrono for a major match. However, I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express once and chronographed my own ammo a LOT.
  10. Yes, sir, Marshall. I apologize for leaving you off that list. And Matt Masterson resigned form it. I know that when Nellie Blue gets her dad a little more settled down, she will get us all up to date!
  11. There are at least 4 others I know of, off the top of my head. Wild Bodie Tom and Nellie Blue are Ambassadors at large. Goatneck Clem out of Haslet, Texas. And myself, Boggus Deal, of New Mexico Territory.
  12. Absolutely, HJ! I had the pleasure of having Sassy Teton Lady on my posse and would have had Claudia Feather. I greatly enjoy shooting with both. We rally missed Claudia and our thoughts and prayers are with her. I also know that there was some lady visitors this year that are not going to miss shooting it next year! Boggus
  13. I must respectfully disagree with my friend, Fredrick Jackson Turner. I felt it was a great mix of targets; big and close, small and distant. Lots of freedom for the shooter to shoot in their direction of choice. The only complaint anyone on my posse had was a lady who had a hard time with the high round count for 5 stages a day. At the end of the day, she was suffering. Maybe if it was 4 stages a day over 3 days would have helped. I would love to shoot the match again next week, as long as I get ammo loaded and guns clean... And in an effort to learn, FJT, what would folks liked to have seen? Different distances? Sizes? More Movement? Less movement? Most anyone that speaks to me about WBAS for more than a few seconds learns that I want to see it grow and prosper, so, I ask these questions to help. Best, Boggus
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, I have sent an email to all that had emailed me about the class. In case I missed someone, it is being held at the Silhouette Range Stat House at Ben Avery Shooting Park Sunday the 22nd at 8:00 am sharp. The class is $25.00. Please bring a pencil or pen, pad, water and a snack if you want. Please email me if you have not received an email from me. tboggus@hotmail.com Best, Boggus Deal
  15. Evil Roy, Thanks for the updates! Boggus
  16. Always up for good tequila!
  17. That was a BOTTLE at SHOT not a bobble..... Look forward to it, my friend.
  18. HJ, as soon as I can get a sample of a traditional hammer, I will get one to you all for evaluation. I had one last week at SHOT and should have shown it to you. Just not enough time.... Thanks!
  19. Here are a couple pics of the hammer installed.
  20. Peeking is a town in China!!!
  21. Yep, the idea has been around for years.
  22. Here are a couple of very crappy pics of the idea I am involved in. First, let me say, I take absolutely no credit for this. A good friend of mine has been working on this for several years now. I am just helping get it to production. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Austin Bealerht devised this many, many years ago. The same technology will be available on a 1911A1 type spur hammer, even if it doesn't become WB legal, it will be on the open market.
  23. Will do, Silvertip.
  24. Silvertip, this design, along with a modified firing pin stop, came from Austin Beahlert many years ago. It absolutely decreases the force required to rack the slide! I won't agree with the 31% claim. As J Frank noted, I have been working on something similar and plan to get samples to the WBAS committee as soon as possible!
  25. Abe, Maybe you could have stopped them but they were probably too fast.
