I saw on a previous thread that the Purcella bullets are favored. Which powder is good to try in the .303 Enfield for BAMM with the gas checked lead bullets?
-
Did in say if it was 25 BAMM and 49 1911 for each of the two Sgt York stages, or is that the total for both stages? How many shots for the BAMM? Thanks for inquiring.
-
Yes, I was interested in what would be going on at GOA. I'll look forward to hearing from you Thanks.
-
Is this a BAMM, 1911 variant? What are the rules and usual course of fire?
-
Thanks for the clarification.
-
Is the M38 Swedish Mauser legal for BAMM, and in particular for Winter Range BAMM? Or, would only the M96 be allowed?
-
Thanks for the responses. It is good to get the rules correct in the mind before the season starts.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your responses. Let's say the "round count" for the rifle for a stage is listed as 10. The instructions indicate using the rifle first with a 7 round nevada sweep on four targets. use 1911 and shotgun at different positions, then shoot the rifle again, triple tapping one designated target. Unless otherwise indicated by the stage description, could one load ten, shoot seven and safely stage the rifle with three rounds left in the mag for use later? Could also apply to a shotgun loaded with six, using four initially, then leaving two rounds for the last two targets of the stage.

For my clarification, although a firearm cannot be decocked on the firing line, can one cycle the firearm to clear the chamber, leave the chamber and action open, stage if necessary or move to another location, and then chamber a round and add a round to replace the ejected one, without penalty? This would be any of the firearms, long guns or 1911.

In the New Handbook, it is indicated that the long guns are to be loaded with rounds to complete the initial sequence (for that gun) only (other rounds are Illegal rounds). Is the sequence defined as the use of the long gun until another gun is used? Would this usually be outlined in the stage description?
-
In reading the new handbook, it seems that as long as there is no round in the chamber, there is no penalty for either moving with the slide forward and the 1911 in hand, or for staging the 1911 with the slide forward after use. Are my interpretations correct ?

Thanks for the suggestions, but I have sent the Model 12 to a professional, Goatneck, for evaluation and honing. Hopefully, it won't be too much of a project!
-
Since the carrier with the flag did not work well, I sent it back. Perhaps I need to have it tuned better for my use. Goatneck, I could send you a PM; is your email still fbursey@sbcglobal.net?

I have purchased them from Dawson precision.

There are times when I cycle the shotgun that a loaded shell seems to get caught in the action. If I can feel it happen, canting the shotgun left allows the shell to be chambered. Cycling slowly helps, I think. I also feel like it may happen with the first or second round, if six were loaded, or the first, if five were loaded. Using four seems not to be associated with the issue. I do not have the guide/flag model. I did get a carrier with the guide from Numric (sp?) but it seemed not to work properly, the guide did not always raise. Suggestions?

My post may have been misunderstood. I am in agreement with keeping the 1911 uncharged until used, for the safety reasons outlined. My point was that since it must be charged before use, IN SASS WILD BUNCH, we all start with the same condition, that is, having to rack the pistol before use. Why is that a problem? I do not think that SASS Wild Bunch needs to be USPSA with the firearms that we use. To me, it seems that some would like it to be, though
-
Our current condition may be safer, generally. Current debate noted. But we all start the same, having to rack the 1911 before use, so what difference does it make?

We had a GREAT State Wild Bunch Match this weekend! Cool, but NO SNOW! Back 40 did a great job organizing the match and a tremendous banquet Saturday evening. Sgt. Eli crafted ten fine Wild Bunch stages which were challenging but Fair. Even had a BAM Match. Congratulations to the State Champs, Lady Viper and ShellStuffer.

Wild Bunch RO Class in Southern Illinois RECAP!!!
Jorge replied to Back 40's topic in The Wild Bunch Wire
This was an OUTSTANDING class presented by ShellStuffer and Back 40! We had good discussions. I wonder if the bayonet for the '97 should be allowed; perhaps that will be considered. Would not seem to add any advantage to using the '97. In any case, I am glad I took the course to enhance my understanding of the current rules and regulations. -
So noted. Will advise all who need to know. Thanks.

Is there a difference in penalties when a shooter breaks the 170 with a loaded firearm, a chambered round firearm, or an empty, action opened firearm?
