  1. What rifle is used for the Sgt. York? If the bolt action, how do you load the magazine with the stripper clip and close the bolt on an empty chamber for the start? Thanks.
  2. Would there be interest in a pocket pistol (small automatics) side match?
  3. Will a new version of the Wild Bunch Handbook be developed prior to Winter Range?
  4. There have seemed to be several threads of questions on the "Regular" SASS wire concerning Wild Bunch. Usually, politely answered, but should these questions be directed to the Wild Bunch Forum? Perhaps it is not wildly known that there is an actual Wild Bunch Wire with a great deal of information.
  5. Also, does it matter which version on the 1910 is used or when it was actually make? I was thinking of the 1914, but would the 1934 be OK for use?
  6. Thanks for the info. I'll be looking into a Mauser 1910/14 (for .32 acp). Who can I contact for the ammunition you referenced?
  7. Where are the "proposed rules?" Are jacketed bullets/factory ammo used or are lead bullets used?
  8. Would a Mauser 1910 be acceptable? If you used a Walther PP or PPK, would it have to be old manufacture?
  9. Which small sidearms are used for the developing side matches? Revolvers, small autos? Also, anyone have knowledge of the Savage .32?
  10. Here is an updated list of who has signed up for the Matches. There is a BAMM match in the works as well. Updated_Shooter_List_8-12-19.pdf
  11. I saw on a previous thread that the Purcella bullets are favored. Which powder is good to try in the .303 Enfield for BAMM with the gas checked lead bullets?
  12. Did in say if it was 25 BAMM and 49 1911 for each of the two Sgt York stages, or is that the total for both stages? How many shots for the BAMM? Thanks for inquiring.
  13. Yes, I was interested in what would be going on at GOA. I'll look forward to hearing from you Thanks.
  14. Is this a BAMM, 1911 variant? What are the rules and usual course of fire?
  15. Thanks for the clarification.
  16. Is the M38 Swedish Mauser legal for BAMM, and in particular for Winter Range BAMM? Or, would only the M96 be allowed?
  17. Thanks for the responses. It is good to get the rules correct in the mind before the season starts.
  18. Thanks for your responses. Let's say the "round count" for the rifle for a stage is listed as 10. The instructions indicate using the rifle first with a 7 round nevada sweep on four targets. use 1911 and shotgun at different positions, then shoot the rifle again, triple tapping one designated target. Unless otherwise indicated by the stage description, could one load ten, shoot seven and safely stage the rifle with three rounds left in the mag for use later? Could also apply to a shotgun loaded with six, using four initially, then leaving two rounds for the last two targets of the stage.
  19. For my clarification, although a firearm cannot be decocked on the firing line, can one cycle the firearm to clear the chamber, leave the chamber and action open, stage if necessary or move to another location, and then chamber a round and add a round to replace the ejected one, without penalty? This would be any of the firearms, long guns or 1911.
  20. In the New Handbook, it is indicated that the long guns are to be loaded with rounds to complete the initial sequence (for that gun) only (other rounds are Illegal rounds). Is the sequence defined as the use of the long gun until another gun is used? Would this usually be outlined in the stage description?
  21. In reading the new handbook, it seems that as long as there is no round in the chamber, there is no penalty for either moving with the slide forward and the 1911 in hand, or for staging the 1911 with the slide forward after use. Are my interpretations correct ?
  22. Thanks for the suggestions, but I have sent the Model 12 to a professional, Goatneck, for evaluation and honing. Hopefully, it won't be too much of a project!
