  1. Many seemed to have loaded the .45 acp for a power factor closer to 160, to ensure making the cut. Not unreasonable for the power factor to be 150-160 for the .45 For the rifle, it would be easy to get to a PF of 120 with a 158 gr bullet and many of the common powders used for the .38 special, according to the loading manuals that I have looked at. Going to a .38 +P or even a .357, which is the chamber anyway, may require a different powder, and I would bet that some would use that (getting another powder) to PREVENT them from shooting WB. In any case, I am in favor of a higher (than 60) PF for the rifle, and continuing the 150 minimum for the 1911, .45 acp. And, I would chrono at State and above matches.
  2. I'll check on the mechanism. I presume that you mean the cartridge cutoff (shell stop)?
  3. Garrison Joe, Thanks, I doo all of that. My issue is that the shells do not always clear the magazine onto the carrier. I have cleaned the magazine tube. It "seems" that a heavier loaded shell (> 7/8 oz) seemed to have more momentum to clear the mag tube and get onto the carrier. Of course, it seems intermittent. User error is possible, but this is even with a firm pump for the first round.
  4. hey Bogus, Thanks for hijacking the thread! I have bought two of your firing pins though. However, as noted in the OP, I was inquiring about the RELOADING components for shotgun shells, not the parts for the Model 12. The parts in the '12 may come next, however
  5. It may seem that some Model 12's prefer a certain shell to function/cycle well. Hull and shot weight being two factors. One of mine may work better with a 1 1/8 oz. shot load. What set of components seem to work well for successful reloading in order to enhance good operation of the Model 12. Thanks.
  6. The minimum power factor for rifles in SASS Wild Bunch is 60. The minimum power factor for .45 acp is 150.
  7. For the Illinois State Wild Bunch Match this last July, we gave Buckles to the Overall State Champions (Male and Lady) and a Buckle for each Category State Champion. The Category State winners also received Conchos. There were three Plaques for top three in each category. The Buckles seemed to be well received.
  8. I have had this happen as well. I thought that it might be that lighter load shells, including dummies were more problematic than say 1-1 1/8 loads. Perhaps used shells were worse too. I'll have to experiment. Might have to get new carrier-flag springs though
  9. Thanks for the information. Seems like too complex a problem for casual shooting.
  10. FREE ICE CREAM? WHO could pass that up? This is going to be a Great Match with NICE Awards.
  11. Are many of these used for the side matches? Where do you get ammo or components, namely brass, bullets, dies, should you reload them? One see some .30 Remington's on GB, but don't know about finding ammo or brass.

  13. Get your applications in for the Big Illinois Event in July. Plans are shaping up well and the Match should be fun!
  14. I "lost" a lot of recent posts on this forum. Odd.
  15. Just checking to see if this is functioning.
  16. We are making plans to have a FINE match, indeed. Several side matches, including Doughboy and Teddy Roosevelt stages on Friday will start the festivities. Ten stages, five on Saturday and five on Sunday will highlight Wild Bunch Action Shooting. More information is outlined on the website. Yes, Sandoval will be the SPOT for Wild Bunch Action Shooting that weekend.
  17. This will be an exciting Wild Bunch Match. Side matches, Teddy Roosevelt and Doughboy side matches, and a 10 stage Main Match. More info is on the web site.
  18. Thanks for the info.
  19. What are typical target distances and scenarios for Teddy Roosevelt and Dough Boy side matches?
  20. Looking forward to hearing more about it!
  21. I have never seen a Chrono at a Cowboy action Match either. The Chrono has been used at most State and Above Wild Bunch Action Shooting Matches that I have attended. Procedures are outlined in the handbook. Pays to have a Chronograph to check your loads before attending a Big Match!
  22. This will be an informative Class.
  23. Winter Range?
  24. I will contact them. Thanks
