  1. I am looking for some reduced loads for 7.62X54. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Any powder with loads preferably for the 150 or lighter bullet range. It can be for copper jacketed or lead with or without gas check. I usually shoot the milspec ammo but Shirttail would like to try some Bamm shooting and I'm don't think she would like shooting milspec in her M44. Thanks in advance. Kid Rich
  2. Stuck firing pin. You are right BD I have had it happen, the gun becomes a canoe anchor cause that's all its good for, the round absolutely will not feed. kR EDIT: Fixed
  3. I prefer the worn blue look. kR
  4. Use a plastic keeper similar to the ones that hold earrings on and you won't lose them. Those metal things that go on the studs don't work well at all. kR
  5. One of the things that helps with the mag problem is using an 8 round mag with 7 in it. They load into magwell easier than a 7 round mag fully loaded. At least in my 1911. kR
  6. Shirttail Bess and I will try to make it for a refresher. kR
  7. I have noticed the same thing. Shirttail shoots 230g bullets with about 160+ pf. She did not like the 200g bullets. kR
  8. I don't care either way. I think you all are over estimating the surge in "new" shooters that WB will experience due to being able to load seven in a mag. A lot of the places I have shot WB has shooters that cannot keep track of five rounds shot, imagine what they will be able to do with seven. I have shot monthly shoots all the way up to EOT. I think it is going to be a mess for the silent majority in this game. kR
  9. I saw one young man shoot standard 1911 etc. for WB I don't recall where. He did just fine. kR
  10. The problem with total time is what do you do with a stage DQ? There is no way to deal with a SDQ in total time so it in essence becomes a Match DQ. And that is not fair. Stage point scoring translates stage time in to points and the shooter gets 0 points for a SDQ. Thus they stay competitive even with a SDQ. Actually, the SASS recommended SDQ for total time - 5 seconds per available miss on the stage plus 30 seconds works really well in my experience. I agree. kR
  11. Just to be clear this includes warmup? This sounds a little low for 16 stages. kR
  12. Ok thanks. kR
  13. 35-40 per stage? kR
  14. OK, thanks. kD
  15. I would like to know because I am leaving in a week and traveling until mid July and need to have enough ammo made up for matches every weekend til then, Most of them are posted and its not too hard to add a small amount for margin of error. If I have to add a huge amount it can add a large amount of weight. Right now I'm probably a little over 600 lbs for ammo. kR
  16. Anybody know round count for EOT WB including warmup? kR
  17. You can shoot BP in your Wild Bunch guns! I do. kR
  18. Make it interesting, let em shoot BP in their guns. ;D kR
  19. Way to go J Frank. kR
  20. Would the call be the same if the black targets were pistol and the white targets were rifle? kR
  21. If that's the case it would be a p and 10 misses. kR
  22. I loaded 100 rounds of acp 230g bullets and OE BP. Went to the range yesterday and shot 70 rounds thru my 1911. No failures of any kind, I let it set until the barrel cooled a little and took it apart. The fouling in the chamber and barrel was soft and wiped off easily. I didn't do the last 30 rounds because it was obvious the fouling was staying soft and would not create a problem. This is in AZ with very low humidity. Clean up was soap and water and done in 5 minutes. kR
  23. Sounds good. As I said I don't know if TB is temp sensitive or not but we did our testing at about the time of WR in AZ. She has been shooting the TB loads in monthly matches to use it up. She really likes the Clays and wants to start using it for her Marlins. I did use some of my BP loads in a WB match, probably the most fun I've had shooting WB since I started. The look on the MD's face was priceless. He was running the timer and is also a BP shooter in SASS. I will run her TB loads through the Chronograph again on a warm day and see what we come up with. Thanks for letting me know what you came up with. kR
  24. I don't remember how full the case was. I also don't know if the TB is temperature sensitive. Shirttail did the loading but was not satisfied with the load, she went to Clays and really likes the load. I know at one point she used 200 g bullets but wasn't satisfied with those either. She does use TB in her 32 Mags about 3/4 full as she can see the powder.
