  1. Factory springs work fine in my guns, if anything I may drop down on the hammer spring a couple of pounds. Your mileage may vary. Blackfoot :)
  2. I run a 16# spring, haven't seen a need for lighter or heavier. Blackfoot
  3. GJ covered it pretty well. I, like a lot of other Wild Bunch shooters use a stage strip that will hold 6 shotgun shells, 10 rifle shells and a 1911 magazine. I have 4 shotgun shells and 4 rifle shells on my belt along with 6 magazines. Blackfoot :)
  4. We understand the .40 caliber or larger requirement. That is not the issue concerning the Big Boy being a suitable choice for Wild Bunch competition. Blackfoot
  5. If the Henry Big Boy does become legal for Wild Bunch I hope that some cowboy does not purchase one without doing due dilligence concerning it' suitability for Wild Bunch Competition. Blackfoot
  6. I am glad to get confirmation that the correct call was a P and a Miss. That was my call on the line but some were very vocal about it not being the correct call. Blackfoot
  7. It really doesn't matter if they were black/white, round/square, near/far, tall/short, they were all to be shot with the pistol. Blackfoot
  8. I added information to the OP, maybe it will help Thanks, Blackfoot
  9. Oops, I have made a correction, he engaged the white targets after the black targets. Thanks for pointing that out. Blackfoot
  10. The stage had 4 black targets and 4 white targets for the pistol. Instructions said to shoot the black targets in a continuous Nevada sweep for 10 rounds, then shoot the white targets in a continuous Nevada sweep for 10 rounds. The shooter drew his pistol, racked the slide, pointed the pistol at the first black target on the left (we'll call it #1) and pulled the trigger. No fire because the slide was not in battery. He bumped the back of the slide and addressed the target again, still no fire. He then ejected the round and started shooting on target 1, continued with the Nevada sweep with the 4 remaining rounds, inserted a new magazine of 5 rounds and continued. After the new magazine was empty (only 9 rounds had been fired), he loaded a new magazine of 5 rounds and proceeded with a continuous Nevada sweep on the WHITE targets changing the magazine as needed. What penalties should be awarded? (the pistol was the last gun used on the stage) Thanks, Blackfoot
  11. Great, it will be good to shoot with you guys again. Blackfoot
  12. Next Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 3 days of shooting at Oakwood, June 11,12 and 13. Saturday, Cowboy Action Shoot Sunday, Wild Bunch and Cowboy Action shooting. (separate events at the same time) Monday, Wild Bunch and Cowboy Action shooting. Come shoot with the Oakwood Outlaws at Oakwood Texas!! Blackfoot
  13. I shoot 200gr. LRNFP bullets in both .45ACP and .45 Colt with Red Dot. My load is 4gr in .45ACP and 5gr in.45Colt. The exact OAL will depend on your bullet. Some good recommendations on seating were given in the response concerning OAL. I have had NO problem running 200gr LRNFP (sized .452) in both. Blackfoot :)
  14. We generally don't have a problem with magazines or power factor issues. If a shooter has magazines with base pads we just tell them about the magazine reaquirements and usually they are eager to comply. Sometimes will ask why XYZ company sells a 1911 as a Wild Bunch gun if it comes with illegal magazines. Same thing with power factor, most shooters are eager to comply with ammo requirements, both bullet weight and power factor. Blackfoot :)
  15. I have seen shooters with an M12 without a flag that have problems and some don't. If a shooter tends to cant the gun when operating an M12 without a flag the shell can have a tendency to get misaligned. Luckily I have not had problems with my unflaged one. Your milage may vary. Blackfoot
  16. Anyone have experience shooting lead bullets in a 2 groove '06 barrel? Good, bad or ugly! Thanks, Blackfoot
  17. The Oakwood Outlaws have 3 days of shooting every month. Starting on the SECOND Saturday, a CAS match, then on Sunday another CAS match, then Wild Bunch on Monday. MONDAY, Wild Bunch Match. This is a small match dedicated to helping shooters get started in Wild Bunch, learning the details and equipment. If you think you would like to shoot Wild Bunch come see us, bring what you have to shoot and we will help. The fun factor is over the top! (if someone just has to shoot CAS on Monday we do that too) www.oakwoodoutlaws.org Yall come, Blackfoot
  18. I totally agree that a re-start would have been appropriate. Blackfoot
  19. No call, not a tactical reload TACTICAL RELOAD, The act of inserting a loaded magazine in a pistol with a live round in the chamber. (Wild Bunch definitions) Blackfoot
  20. Titegroup supply seems to have dried up so I am now using Red Dot. It works fine in my .44mag and .45ACP using 200 gr bullets. Blackfoot
  21. Probably, no guarantee! Blackfoot
  22. Glad you enjoyed it my friend. Hope to see you often. Welcome to this crazy fun game! Blackfoot 8)
  23. Strange that they call it a "government model". Blackfoot
