  1. Some may not have found the primer mine to dig up all the golden primers needed.
  2. WELL you could do a major, and minor. Then we can have lots of categories and everyone can be a winner. :D ;D
  3. Race ready; depends on the box :D I lucked into a pair of Smith Wesson, Doug Koeg factory customs. Lightened the main hammer spring and the recoil spring and runs great. ;D
  4. BS and attacks! As my wife and I have been life SASS member's for 30 years the few times she made a post there was always a smarty that attacked or ragged on her cause they felt like it. SO she no longer will post or read anything on the SASS wire. The know it all just go and are replaced by the next clown. YES. I do take it hard and remember those who have done her dirt.
  5. Arched, for the same reason GJ is not using them. I rush the shot and place the front sight low in the rear sight. Need all the help to not shoot under the target.
  6. HI Gang; UP north some use NORINCO 1911 due to 350 dollar price. Some gunsmiths buy them for the base of custom guns. They go BANG and work ok. But things from a certain country are falling from favour.
  7. HI Gang; I did load 250 RNFP bullets in 45acp. Got a box of very blunt bullets at a auction, these few bullets worked as a test, but would not wish to make a regular load of them. Bit of a nuisance to get just right.
  8. HI Gang; Is it true that in other gun games a single DQ is always a match DQ, put your gun away you are done for the day?
  9. Howdy Gang; Why is there not more shooters using the Smith Wesson 1911 platform for Wild Bunch shooting? I have found mine very good with great trigger and the sort of 80 series block safety to be a non issue. The extractor work easily and good to clean.
  10. HI Gang; I hate shotgun reloads! ::) fat thumbs all on one hand. one of the positives of WB is no shotgun reloads.
  11. Well I did see a bearded gap toothed COWBOY match where shooter showed up in a dress, but that was due to the poster saying western dress required! He was a tree cutter from the far north woods.
  12. Hi Gang. I keep my rifle sighted to 75 yards so as to shoot silhouettes to 100 yards. Far out, could work for me.
  13. Can you tone down the shine on them shooters. So pretty and bright it hurts. 8)
  14. HI Gang; Had a Norinco adjustable sights and machined scratch's on the top of the slide. NASTEY to leather holster, chewed up a nice new Mernickle holster. But hey it was 400 bucks new. The Smith Wesson, Doug Koenig custom fits a lot nicer with bragging in the parking lot. Canada Eh!
  15. REMENBER there is no free-bore in 45 acp. GJ should be along soon to clarify.
  16. HI Gang; I been shooting CAS for decades, rank scoring then, sometimes we used stop watch's or watched the second hand on a wrist watch. We came to shoot and have fun. YEP got wrong time or score, so what! I shoot IPSC and do not get the scoring system or how best to get best results, oh well! I still shoot both and will shoot whatever I can when I wish. Score it any way you all wish I will still be there.
  17. Grease is BAD on a 1911 at below freezing :-[
  18. HI Gang; As a experienced shock buff user I found; some gun would not cycle with fat buffs, thin ones did not do munch. traded a click clang sound for a thump clang sound for no real benefit, other then mental. Always waiting for the jam up. Added more cost replacing the rubber thing often. A water tap washer will work about the same for 30 cents each. BY the way I got rid of ALL buffs a long time ago and now can sleep through the night.
  19. HI Gang. I thought them loops were for 45 colt bullet, Never figured them for 45 ACP. Lets see pull 45 ACP from loop find empty mag, insert bullet, place in gun. ;)
  20. HI Gang; I have a Mernickle holster and a old IPSC holster designed to fit on the pants belt. They both cover the 1911 the same, same size, same shape. So no issues for WB. Davis leather company 1145. It looks like a twin for the Mernickle just without the leather strap across the middle. The 1911 has not changed shape so neither has many leather holsters. Besides I bought it at the club gun show for 10 bucks. :)
  21. HI GANG. Yesterday at a WB match, a shooter had the slide closing on the loaded round before the round could chamber. Like it hit the case in the side and marked it. SO shooter tells me a maker in USA (custom maker I believe) That with full power loads to use 20 pound recoil spring. I strongly suggested that factory's install 16 or maybe 18 pound recoil springs and informed him I used 14 recoil and 19 hammer main spring. As my Smith and Wesson functioned perfectly the shooter is thinking of trying lighter recoil spring. My power factor is 162.
  22. HI Gang; Was told to get Model 12 only after serial number 500,000 something about minor change at the factory made them better, Just hear say so do not quote me. DO beware of LIGHT WEIGHT model 12 as the mag tube is shorter and may only hold 4? or something like that.
  23. HI; Some northern folk strip 7.62X39 ammo and use the bullet and powder for plinker MIX-MATCH ammo.
  24. HI; I picked up a Winchester model 12 follower, put in into the 97 and clipped a few coils of the spring.
  25. HI Gang; So is what you really want is to see the misses and P, and stage DQ. All spelled out for each stage, regardless of the scoring system?
