I’m with Boggus on this. Cut a dovetail. Many options on sights then.

Solution to a nonexistent problem that will come apart at the worst possible time. WBT will come back and haunt me if I ever put one in a 1911 🤠

I use Pliobond 25 with Mernickle leather base pads. I’ve probably done over 400 of them with great success.

Christmas Eve Wild Bunch Match at Cowtown, Phoenix AZ
KingSnake replied to Flying W Ramrod's topic in Wild Bunch Matches
Shotgun Shannon and I will be there. KingSnake -
To me, field stripping and cleaning includes removing the firing pin and extractor. The extractor tunnel is always dirty. I do this once a month. About twice a year I do a total tear down and clean and inspect the parts.

I use Pliobond 25 contact cement

The 2021 Arizona State Wild Bunch Championship is coming up February 13 & 14 2021. Held at Cowtown in north Phoenix. I am sure Zona will have some interesting and challenging stages to shoot. I always like shooting Zona's stages, but some have called him an "Evil Bastard" ;D ;D ;D Applications can be found here: https://ccsa-az.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2021-WILD-BUNCH-STATE-APP-with-fields.pdf Hope to see lots of you in February. 2020 ARIZONA STATE WILD BUNCH CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
KingSnake replied to KingSnake's topic in Wild Bunch Matches
Currently 40+ shooters signed up. Still room for plenty more. I know Zona and friends are working hard to make this not only a GREAT Arizona State Wild Bunch Match, but also to be a GREAT Winter Range Wild Bunch Warmup Match. Get your entries in SOON. KingSnake -
Tully, not common knowledge as this is the first I've heard of this too. Curious ??? KingSnake

2020 ARIZONA STATE WILD BUNCH CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
KingSnake replied to KingSnake's topic in Wild Bunch Matches
Last monthly match rifle was all 10 rounds except one stage was 9 rounds. I'll make a WAG that there will be shotgun reloads. Plus as Marshal Stone says, Zona likes to shoot a lot of ammo with few if any dumps. KingSnake -
The 2020 Arizona State Championship Match will be February 15 & 16 2020 at the Cowtown Shooting Range in North Phoenix. All you folks coming to Winter Range early should sign up and shoot this match. I was at the loading table where I could see the shooter but not the firearm due to a stage front wall. First round sounded pretty normal, second round sounded different but not the phfffft you hear from a Cowboy squib, third round KABOOM. Anyone who has shot Cowboy for any length of time is familiar with the phffft from a rifle/revolver squib. This shotgun sound was nothing like that. I've been shooting shotguns for 55 years and I have never heard or seen a shotgun burst like this. Had I been the shooter yesterday, I probably would have shot the third round also as I didn't not recognize it as a squib. The takeaway for me is, if my shotgun round doesn't sound normal, declare malfunction and move on. KingSnake

This is NOT how you want your Model 12 barrel to look. I believe it was the 3rd round. Suspected squib 2nd round. A very experienced, fast shooter. Afterwards said noticed 2nd round didn't seem right but didn't react quick enough to stop. Nobody hurt. Shotgun was first and shooter finished stage. I shoot my Model 12's pretty quick and I don't think I would've been able to react either. This is simply to show what can happen.

Tungsten weighs about twice as much as same size in steel. PITA to machine too.

45acp 230gr load with W231?
KingSnake replied to Four Fingers Fred's topic in Reloading for Wild Bunch
To the OP, I load 4.3 gr of Win 231 with a 230 gr LRN with hi-tek coating. OAL 1.225" with a tight crimp. Gives me a PF of 160 here in Arizona in the 1911's Shotgun Shannon and I use. KingSnake
