  1. OK, using that logic, why use any time at all to make sure it is CLEAR, at the end of the stage?
  2. That is my point, should safety issues be considered of higher importance than "if you think it is a miss then it is a hit"
  3. Hijack--- There maybe a discussion here. Hit-Miss? Benefit-of-the-doubt does and should go to the shooter. What about safety issues? IMHO, what the shooter did was NOT safe. I was unable to hear if the TO made a call regarding the pistol. It appears the shooter grabbed the pistol preventing further discussion. Making a joke of the issue. Which is a problem. Potentially Spirit of the Game. Assuming the 170 was determined to be a "no call", SDQ for unsafe gun handling.
  4. Credit 2001 D. Kamm m1911.org DISCONNECTOR TEST: Slide forward, hammer back, thumb safety OFF. Grip gun normally with firing hand, while pulling slide back 1/4" with support hand. Pull trigger. Hammer should not fall. Repeat test by pulling slide all the way back, then releasing it slowly, pulling trigger every 1/2" of slide movement. The hammer should NOT fall until the slide has returned to the full forward position. If it does then the disconnector is worn. DO NOT fire the pistol until it is repaired, or else it may possibly go into firing uncontrollable bursts or go completely "full-auto".
  5. A few years ago at the NV state match, it WAS done. I do not have statistics, but I would venture many (less than 1/2) ever done a safety test. Especially after a full cleaning. And I doubt many shooters know how to do a disconnector test.
  6. Who does a function check at matches? https://www.m1911.org/technic25.htm The disconnector test is REALLY critical.
  7. I fully support....communication and openness!!!!
  8. Without any hesitation stage 8. Everyone had the opportunity to shoot blazing fast and still be CLEAN. No need for spotters either the target is down or not. Stage 5 could have been more interesting if the shotgun used all three positions. *Comment* As a PM, fun stages for shooters become stressful stages for TO, spotters and PM. "Fun" for me, happens when the stage has elements to consider.
  9. CAS has a who's coming!!! I cannot find the WBAS list???
  10. Battle Born Rangers typically offer both as part of the monthly Wild Bunch Matches. Along with BIG BORE at the CAS matches. They were also part of the Nevada State Wild Bunch match in 2023.
  11. Battle Born Rangers range is at the Washoe County Shooting Facility north of Reno NV
  12. It is common if not expected that Teddy Roosevelt and Doughboy are part of our monthly Wild Bunch Matches.
  13. I am referring to sanctioned matches. Which is the source of my quote
  14. From the announcement 3. Teddy Roosevelt and Doughboy will no longer be official WBAS Main match categories. They will be moved back to WBAS Side match status. What could have been stated is that because some ranges are not able to accommodate the required distances, clubs are not obligated to offer Teddy Roosevelt and Doughboy. Doing so allows clubs the option
  15. SASS has made some important changes to Wild Bunch. I'll let others share the changes. Make sure you contact your TG and VOTE
