  1. Pg 13 WBSHB "Only non-adjustable “military style” simple blade rear and front sights allowed." "Front sights may be dovetailed, pinned, or staked." "Sights may be the color of the slide or any combination of the slide color, including but not limited to: blue, black, or natural stainless (natural colored) steel. The back of a colored front sight may be polished to a natural steel color." Based on this, the "military style" simple blade rear and front sight is your determining factor.
  2. February is the month for WBAS RO Classes in the Phoenix area. Friday, February 14 at Cowtown Range, just 15 minutes from Ben Avery (for those who want the class but don't want to miss Side Match Wednesday at EOT) Wednesday, February 26 at EOT. Contact Flying W Ramrod at ramrodwayne@gmail to sign up for either one of these classes.
  3. However, unless a designated, safe work area, is established, the ULT could be considered that area. Since the firearm was a declared malfunction, I don't believe the penalty for firing into the berm holds. IMHO
  4. Hopefully the RO Instructors and CRO's will be included
  5. Keep us updated on the Zoom Meeting details please. Regards
  6. SHB 17.4, Pages 12 and 13. No mention of what side the mag release must be on. Extended mag release is allowed in Modern, not allowed in Traditional. WBRO Manual lists the same requirements for Mag Releases in three locations, Slides 17, 18, and 24. None say you can't change the mag release to the right side. Wild Bunch Range Operations and Match Directors Guide Pages 23 and 25 refer to checking the mag release for extended and oversize. Nothing about side of pistol. The SHB 16.3 from 2022 says the same. I'm thinking that, at some point in history, the location of the mag release was removed and no one noticed.
  7. Contact your WBTG. Let them know your concern. That's how things get changed.
  8. The context is, if you have enough mag pouches for the stage, that's where the mags come from. If you don't have enough mag pouches for the stage, you can stage the ones you need. You can't take mags from mag pouches and stage them where you think you might need them. Same with rifle reloads. If you have a loop for reload rounds, that's where they come from. If you don't you can stage them. You can't pull a reload round from the loop and stage it. All this depends on the written stage description though.
  9. No footwear may have grip enhancing soles. Wild Bunch is a take on WW1. Combat boots of that era are acceptable. Jungle boots, desert boots, etc, while combat boots, are not in the spirit of Wild Bunch. Rent the movie, check out their footwear. General rule of thumb, if it's not spelled out in the WBSHB and is in the CASHB, the CASHB is the rule.
  10. Wow....Just WOW. Some of these comments are just.....WOW The new TG system has taken on the responsibility of fixing all of this. Don't like what's happened? Get your club to elect you WBTG and fix the problem. .38's isn't written in stone. Fix it. Don't just bitch about it, become part of the solution, or shut up. I talked to a lot of shooters, here in Arizona who said "I shoot (fill in the blank) and I don't want to change from condition 1 to SASS" or "I don't have a 40 caliber or larger rifle", or "I don't have a Model 12". Now that most of that is the norm in WBAS, they say "Oh, I got rid of those guns years ago". "I don't have time for another shooting sport". etc. They never intended to shoot WBAS, they just wanted an excuse. Now the excuse is gone, they have to face reality. Don't like the, current, system? Get involved and fix it....Or shut up.
  11. Everyone who passes the WBRO Course gets a Gold 1911. Supposedly, WBRO Instructors got a Silver 1911.
  12. Been an WB RO Instructor for years and have never seen, or heard, of one. In fact, Legendary Lawman once told me there was no such thing. Hmmmmm
  13. Not yet we don't. I made one for myself. I'll upload a photo later.
  14. As I understand it, the technology used at the EOT WBTG meeting was supposed to do "voice to text" for the meeting. It didn't work so, Misty and Ruby have to sit through 3+ hours of the meeting and transcribe the entire thing. This, on top of all the conventions, meetings, shoots etc, are a big reason the EOT minutes aren't up yet. Be patient or contact SASS HQ and volunteer to transcribe the minutes for them.
  15. WBSHB 17.4 Page 18 "In Wild Bunch Action Shooting, side by side/double barrel shotguns are loaded under TO supervision at the staging location and staged open. The action may not close until “after the beep”. Any additional rounds needed must be loaded from the body or other specified staging position. If vertical staging is used, the double/side by side will have to be staged empty."
  16. In February, I asked this question of Misty and was told the penalty is for leaving an empty or loaded round "in the chamber", and would be clarified in the next update. Thinking this clarification might have gotten lost during the past few, hectic, months. It was changed to ensure the side by side shooters would have to open and, attempt, to clear their shotgun.
  17. SHB 17.4, 4/10/24, PG 17 Shotgun Gauges "Side-by-side, single shot, and lever action shotguns must be centerfire of at least 20 gauge and no larger the 10 gauge." Pretty much answers the question. As 16 gauge is between 20 and 10 it's good to go.
  18. If you stage the shotgun with the hammer cocked, you cannot rack it without pulling the trigger. During the course of fire, the shooter moves to the staged shotgun and tries to rack it, and it will not rack, the shooter should be told to pull the trigger. If the trigger goes click, and then able to rack, it's still a SDQ for not following loading/unloading table procedures. That never changed. The only thing changed is you, no longer, have to pull the trigger before staging the shotgun.
  19. As stated before. Contact your WBTG and start the ball rolling.
  20. it was changed due to allowing break action shotguns. This makes the break action shotgun users open their shotguns and shuck the hulls as opposed to just discarding the closed, or open, shotgun and moving on.
  21. Stand by for clarifications. Contact your WBTG to get the changes you want started.
  22. Clarification was made. A round, empty or live, in the chamber is a SDQ, a live or expended round on the carrier or in the magazine is still a no call.
  23. Bring, and shoot, what you want. We'll find a category for you.
