Maybe I'll even load some 150 pf loads just for fun. The splits will be the same anyway. I'm never going to understand the obsession with that, I guess I'll see this year since there's going to be so many "classic" shooters. Quote
CC Moonshine Posted Thursday at 06:04 PM Author Posted Thursday at 06:04 PM Hi everyone, Just returned from EOT. Great events! Both WB and CAS were well received and had great stage designs. It is notable that the WB targets were a yard or 2 too close in many folks opinion. I agree that the close pistol could have been moved back some. That being said, it was an excellent match and folks had a super time. To the statements about the catagories: Wild Bunch is doing exactly as we hoped, folks have choices and choices are good. 60/40 split of classic and other is fantastic! That means that 40 % are here shooting as new Wild Bunch shooters OR converts of old that wanted to shoot 38. This can also suggest that close to 40%+/- of the shooters were new to WB in the past year. For the record this is a 100% win for Wild Bunch! 164 shooters in the match, folks were happy, I talked to several dozen and they were all thrilled. Land Run 2026 already has 120 Wild Bunch and it's still 9 months away. I know it's very hard for some to see sunshine and joy, but it's impossible to dispute the simple facts. We are growing and its great. Have a great day everyone, CC Quote
Tracker Jack Posted Thursday at 09:03 PM Posted Thursday at 09:03 PM It is great what happens when the rank and file get listened to, instead of like days of old told to "like it or leave". Many left. As soon as my shoulder replacement heals I will be shooting many more WB matches. Not having to buy new guns, and having realistic power factors allow me to shoot. 1 Quote

They were shot down by people who never shot Wild Bunch and had not then, and still have, no clue. I will not stop criticizing the current status because when adults ran the organization it grew. Now, not so much… If it were growing as some claim, why were the “Classic” categories created? Hi Boggus, It was nice to see you at EOT. I wanted to come back around and talk about all the topics of WB but I had just a few to many irons in the fire. I'm not sure of the time frame you are referring to in the quote above, but the pure hard numbers (which never lie) show a stagnated unmeasurable zero net gain for Wild Bunch from 2012-2021. No growth, beyond ten's of people. I'm very very curious as to all the ideas that were shot down? Please share. Also I'm curious as to whom you feel has no clue, because the direction of WB is being guided by over 100 WB TG's and an experienced WB-ROC. Is your claim that they have no clue??? The "open" category was SASS's attempt in 2022 to create an opportunity for folks to shoot .38 rifles and try WB with their CAS shotgun. It was completely rejected and in a very rude fashion by the old guard. The attempt was not to do away with anything, It was to ADD something. Fast forward to today, and the Classic categories does exactly the same thing just reversed in execution. This or the Open categories have always been part of the growth plan. WB should offer enough options so that almost anyone can find a spot that fits their desire. Again, the numbers are proof of concept. Shoot the game like you want to, there is a spot for everyone. As the new rules launched in 2025, there was a huge, measurable gain with clubs / TG's and matches requesting sanctioning where there were never WB matches in the past. Now with the Classic add, we are seeing another growth spurt. Remember numbers don't lie. I urge you and anyone who has ideas or wants changes, then become a TG or spend some time with TG's and explain your ideas. But just posting rants, (while it's entertaining) it really does nothing for anyone. Quote
