Boggus Deal
About every other day, there is a question posted on the SASS Wire about registering here. If SASS supports Wild Bunch so much, why do they make it SO hard for new shooters to register here? Is it a mistake or a deliberate attempt to do so? That’s a rhetorical question. CC? You have an answer? Just like the five years I hosted the New Mexico State Wild Bunch State Championship at Founder’s Ranch, just minutes away from the SASS headquarters and always offered free entry to the match, always a free dinner to anyone in the SASS office who would come. Want to guess how many ever showed up?

You have an answer? Hi Boggus, In many cases folks have problems because their spam grabs their confirmation email and they don't see it. Other tech issues could be their firewalls. Very seldom is it a site problem because it would affect everyone if it was a site issue. In any case a phone call during business hours to the SASS HQ or an email to them will usually get it cleared up within a day or so. Keep in mind that some days the SASS HQ has phones ringing non-stop and folks may have to leave a message if the girls are all on other lines. They will get a call back if they leave a message. At some point, WB wanted their very own forum away from the CAS wire (Not to be connected to the SASS/CAS forum) and here we are, so yes it is an additional process to end up here and requires the added step of signing up here and jumping thru the registration hoops. As for the five year ago statement, I can't imagine who wouldn't want to spend time with you on the range and at a dinner. 😂 Plus I don't think any of the staff had .40 cal. or larger rifles at the time. 😋 Just poking fun, I actually enjoyed having you with our posse at EOT last year. Seriously, we actually enjoy WB and want it to grow, so the conspiracy that we have spent 2 years working on ways to grow WB just because we want it to fail needs to end. SASS has tons of projects, programs, and daily tasks to complete. This effort to grow WB is exactly that, we want it to succeed. Have a great rest of your week Boggus, CC
El Chapo
I don't think it's true that spam filters caught the confirmation email for this forum. It never sent me one. I even changed email addresses and it never went to either one. Something is wrong with the forum software. I don't think telling people to call is a solution. Not everyone is going to do that. The software needs to be fixed to start allowing people to sign up without having to to email or call. If we want to grow, we need the technology to work for us.

Hi El Chapo, I'll say something to SASS regarding it. Thanks for the input. CC

Howdy Boggus: The process to register on both the Cowboy Action Shooting Forum and this Wild Bunch Action Shooting Forum are exactly the same- it is identical software. To be sure we weren't missing something, I went into the administration side of the software, and there were a small handful of folks pending registration- awaiting validation. This means they had not yet responded to their validation email, but I went ahead and jut confirmed their registrations manually to ease that for them. There is no conspiracy against Wild Bunch. Injun Ryder
I was one that received access today. Thank you for the assistance. FWIW - I never received any confirmation e-mails after multiple tries. I tried over multiple days and constantly checked my spam folder so there is some issue with that process.

They can’t register here, yet can go to the cowboy wire, register, and are able to question registration here.

And yes she checked her spam numerous times AND sent a number of emails to SASS but never received a confirmation letter or a reply back. She called too. Finally she just gave up in frustration. She was able to get on the CAS forum but not this one so I would have to agree with others that there is something wrong and/or different between the CAS and WB forums. Thank you. Roper Renegade Roper: Yes, Headshot Hannah was on the list of validating members that I pushed through manually yesterday. She registered on July 26 under the name Headshot, but never verified the email. I'll look into the email verification portion of the software- and maybe ask our server host/software team to run a comparison between the 2 forums to see what differs in the registration settings. Meanwhile, I've asked SASS HQ to reach out to Hannah as well and to assist further if needed. At your service ~Dutch
Dutch D. Moderator
Hey everyone: I just wanted to post an update on what I have discovered on the registration email delivery issues. I did a comparison of the registration settings between the 2 forums and I did find a few things buried in the settings still set at a default designation. I changed them to mirror the registration settings over in the CAS Forum. Hopefully this will resolve any future issues.
