  1. If Choctaw passes, I will take it.
  2. May God bless you and keep you all this year!
  3. I know painting a sight black is legal, I will need to find out if the brass bead would be, or if it would kick you into Modern.
  4. Merry Christmas to you all!
  5. The military 1911s had wide hammers until 1926. 'Nuf said.
  6. Because they do not have the collector value that 97s and 12s have, making them more affordable for shooters. It hurts less to cut the barrel on a 25 than a 12 of comparable condition.
  7. Thank you! It was a great day with thirty family here!
  8. This is exactly why I was asking this. They are visually identical and operate the same.
  9. The Winchester 25 is simply the Model 12 without the take down feature. Do you think this would be allowed or would the Rules Committee need to adopt this?
  10. Thank you Sir!
  11. Can someone post that in non Word for those of us who don't have it?
  12. Well picked up a William's receiver sight for the Savage. Holes match up in the receiver, so tomorrow I'm going to mount it on the rifle, even though it's still on layaway! Pics once mounted.
  13. Very handsome!
  14. I have wanted a Savage 99 since I was a kid reading Roy Chapman Andrews' exploits in China and Mongolia. But prices kept going higher and higher on them. But we had a shooter grade one come in to the LGS I work part time at, so I put it on layaway. It will be next month before I pay it off, but I am stoked to get it. It's in .300 Savage, so reloading is on tap for it. Hopefully I can use it in Teddy Roosevelt shooting and not embarrass myself too much.
  15. I have not heard of it happening. I would think that it would only come up in the Modern Class with a railed gun possibly not making weight.
  16. As someone with big paws I have a scar on my hand from shooting 1911s and getting bitten like that GJ has covered the steps you need to look at. The original 1911 [not A1] grip safety was smaller and used when Colt brought out the Commander. You can look for one of those too.
  17. Guys, please take this argument elsewhere.
  18. Add this to this list: https://americanhandgunner.com/handguns/sds-arms-tisas-asf-m1911a1/
  19. Quick report on the Metro Arms [Phillipines] 1911A1, excellent sights and has nice Mahogany grips. Will need to have trigger replaced with a solid unit. Accuracy from a .38 Super I shot was outstanding, so I will guess the .45 will be a good shooter too. Parkerized and Chrome plated versions [the chrome was sent back to the distributor for blemishes, but the Parkerized was very good looking]. MSRP from $549-899. Comes with a nice hard case and one magazine.
  20. I was going by what was actually at our distributors, I hope the Taylor's site is just lacking the gun, because it is gorgeous.
