It appears that the dual spring system would be illegal.

 

Page 6, Shooing Handbook version 14.4 dated March 2020 states under Modern Pistol Modifications: " No recoil reducing devices are allowed."

 

Colt's technical description on their website of the Competition series states:  "Dual Recoil spring system reduces felt recoil while extending recoil spring life."

 

Were the Dual spring system removed a a GI or Full Length Guide Rod and single recoil spring used, the Competition series would be legal. 

 

That's my story and I'm sticking to it unless proven otherwise!

Thanks for the info.  I thought the dual spring might not be allowed.

Boggus, thanks for the info on the spring. Would you say that the pistol itself is a reasonable quality 1911?
