The Browning Model 12 was also never offered in 12 ga. Just 20 ga and 28 ga.

I use my method because it keeps my hands closer together and just a very, very little faster for the first shot. Not much but measurable. 

There is probably a couple ways to do overhand. I use the front serrations on a couple of my guns with just my thumb and forefinger and find that works very well for me. It is sort of a combination of the slingshot and overhand.

Slingshot = Pinch the back of the slide with your thumb and forefinger, pull back and release.

Overhand = Reach over the top of the slide with your hand and grasp it with more of your hand and fingers.

The items are coming. I have production models for Modern category guns but Traditional ones are taking longer due to limited demand. The ones I have been using are very promising but requires more than just dropping them in. Springs, smoothing, etc all need to be done.

After my posts earlier, I have actually had a minute to go look. On page 8 of the most recent, published manual, it says:

 

Safe to leave the shooter's hand- Slide locked open, empty magazine or no magazine.

 

I had not seen that before, hence my asking.

 

 

However, Allie Mo, darlin'. If I lay the gun down with the slide closed, is that "safely" restaged??? IF it were to happen to me right now, I'm dumping the mag and locking slide back.............

I completely understand the absolutely no reholstering. Leaves the holster. No going back. Until cleared. My question is this. I accidentally draw. Can I leave a full magazine in with slide down and stage gun until I need it? Hasn't been charged. Or must I lock the slide back and stage it until I need it?

 

 

You cannot just wave the guns at targets and expect to do well in WB.

Seriously, thank you for stating the info about costuming. I have heard from quite a few that the biggest reason they don't shoot Wild Bunch is the costuming. I've tried my best to make sure they know what is and isn't required.

Although I understand and completely agree with Happy Jack on the ruling, the competitor in me would have to ask why would you want to do that?

You're having to handle it an extra time, therefore doubling your chance of fumbling it or dropping it.

I have to say I have never shot one. I have handled several of them and think the fit and finish is as good as any production 1911 out there. I think they are made in Israel. I would have no problems owning one but bought a Ruger or three, first.

Chuck Warner of Warner Custom Pistols in Albuquerque or Cameron's Custom Gun in Phoenix. Those are the two who have worked on my guns. Including the one used at Winter Range this year.

 

Yeah, Dusty. Its a great club!! A great range!! Great people but most stages are 10-10-4, left to right. Write something like a 35 round pistol stage and they start having coronaries!! Write a stage with some shooter choice to it and they really don't know what to do.

We are growing on them, though. They really are getting better. We had a really good WBAS match Saturday and there was a stage that had some variety to it.

One club Norfleet and I shoot at a lot barely has one stage a month with more than 10 rounds. Btw, Mel, they told me to tell you that feel free to write stages anytime. Send them to Stage Stop or Two Bit Tammy and they would set the steel!

 

 

Ladies and gentlemen,

Remember, IF we were to begin to allow 7 rounds in magazines, not every stage has to be 7 rounds. Some stages could be 7 and some could be 5.

Would it cause some people confusion loading the mags? Yes. But this is a much more a thinking game than CAS. One of the reasons I like WBAS more than CAS right now is every single thing isn't spoon fed to me like it has come in some CAS matches.

I can assure you, it ain't gym equipment! Or power bars. Because of lots or personal experience with folks not being able to rack a slide, I have been doing lots of research to find ways to help. I have found two products that used separately help greatly and combined, well, its like a different gun.

I also think it will help a faster shooter with better split times.........
