  1. Marshal, Contact Hondo Tweed. I believe he has them on digits.
  2. Thanks. Appreciate the feedback. Again, I do not foresee any drastic changes from the round count from 2022. However, a lot can happen over the next 10 months. Hope to see you back in 2023.
  3. It is unfortunate that you will not be attending. Land Run is a great shoot at a great facility. Out of curiosity, what would be your desired/ideal round count for a National level event? The round count JFN quoted is in line with the SASS match directors guidebook and would be a maximum we would shoot. As a reference point, Land Run 2022 round count was 280 pistol, 60 rifle and 60 shotgun—this does not include side matches. We do not have 2023’s round count even close to finalized, but I expect it will be around the same number (probably a little more, but not less) as 2022.

Link to picture from LR 2022. Compliments of Donna Mosena Denton, one of our many supporters.
  5. Registration for Wild Bunch Land Run will open 1 Jan 2023. The official dates are 7-9 Oct 2023. Registration will be separate from the Cowboy registration. I will provide the link when we get it all set up! We are working on a new WB page on the OKC gun club website. In the mean time please feel free to join our Facebook page “The Oklahoma Rough Riders” for updates. For those that shot WB Land Run 2022, there are FB pictures posted from the match that you can download for free. EJ
  6. LR is scheduled for 7-14 Oct 2023. Current schedule has warm up on Sat and Match stages Sunday and Monday. We are discussing moving the side matches around.
  7. Should be a nice pistol. As you stated, need to change the fiber optic sight. Not sure about the dual recoil spring. Rule states: No recoil reducing devices are allowed. This means no Springcoil, STI, Fire Dragon, Hartts, tungsten, or similar recoil reducing guide rods, full length dust covers, extra weights, and the like.
  8. Poking around on the new SASS website. If you shop the clothing section, it allows you to customize your choices. One of the choices is the WB logo. Give them a look!
  9. Try this Category Winners by Time.pdf
  10. We still have slots available for Land Run, Oct 8-10, hosted by the OK Rough Riders. Get your application in, you will not be disappointed. http://cowboy.okcgunclub.org/landrun/
  11. GJ Maybe this will help simplify the concept of applying the rules. You only count actual misses or assess a miss for any rounds not shot with legally acquired ammunition as directed by the stage description. Any rounds shot with illegally acquired ammunition or overloaded rounds, will assess a P, no misses or hits, and overall time will not be adjusted. Additional “legally acquired rounds” fired beyond the stage description, result in a P, no misses or hits and no overall time adjustment to final time. Using the example. Shooter would be assess a P, no miss and time used firing an overloaded round from the 3rd 7 round magazine that was in the chamber as he changed to the 4th 5rnd mag. The third mag should still have a round in it. He would be assessed a miss due to the fact he only shot 19 legally acquired rounds. Just for thought and further confusion.. If, in the heat of battle, the shooter loaded and shot an extra 5 round mag, the first round of legally acquired ammo would count toward the stage round count and the shooter would have no misses from being short in the round count. The additional 4 rounds would assess a P (if not already assessed) and time only (no misses). Hope this helps. EJ
  12. Another reason for 3rd day is to allow for our side matches to be shot without competing with cowboy warm ups and their side matches.
  13. It’s a 14.5 hour drive from OK to Phoenix for WR, but the door is always open.
  14. Here you go Grouchy. Hope all is well.SW_territorial_Championship_-_SW_Territorial_Championship_10-2-21_-_10-3-21-_Overall_Winners_Details_by_Time_2.pdf

  16. Quick clarification, per Hondo. Beetle Bailey will be a BAMM event with 10 rounds on a moving target for hits and time. Due to time constraints, GAMM will only happen as a fun shoot after all other side matches are complete. So bring your M1 just because! The long range 100ish/200ish (actually a little farther out) will also have TR rifle caliber lever gun in smokeless and Blackpowder. 3 sighters and 5 for score. Clock runs on first sighter. Concept of pocket pistol is small caliber pistol carried by officers or as concealed weapon made prior to end of WW2. No official rules. Exam: 1903 in 32 hammerless or 38ACP hammered. Caveat—all subject to change as we flex to make things happen. Artemus is spot on for top shot. Don’t forget your appetite.
  17. Vaquero, Tactical reloads are allowed and depending on the scenario can be beneficial. I use tactical reloads when it allows me to keep from re-acquiring and aiming at a target twice. Example—7 targets. Double tap each target. I double tap the first 3 targets, drop the mag (finger off trigger), reload and double tap the remaining 4 targets. Food for thought. EJ
  18. That is a bit of a trip. However, I do get to Geneva every once in awhile. One of the perks of my job. Regardless, if there is anyway I can help, just let me know. I know the Germans have shoots. I was going to attend their WB championship until COVID hit. I can also provide scenarios if that helps. Don’t be afraid to experiment with other options. We are having a lot of success with Doughboy shooting (now an approved side match), which we run at the same time as WB. I have shot my K-11, K-31, 1903, Enfield, and Krag in our monthlies vs a lever gun. Quit frankly, I prefer Doughboy over WB. I would be willing to bet you could find a pump shotgun in your world that would meet the intent of WB. The goal is to have fun while paying respect to the methods and Guns of old. Don’t be afraid to experiment. If it gets more folks involved, please share as we may be able to incorporate it into the program. Good luck. EJ
  19. Kay confirmed the website is incorrect reference WB being full. If you want to shoot WB email Kay and let her know by email: register@endoftrail.org
  20. Phil, Where are you located? We can help point you in the right direction on the closest WB clubs. We can also help a club wanting to start a WB program. Always looking to bring new members to the WB game. You will have a great time. EJ
  21. Doc, per your question on slings. Clarified with the ROC. The current rules stand. Slings are not authorized on main match guns for SASS sanctioned matches. They are authorized for SASS sanctioned side matches. Doughboy, Teddy Roosevelt, and BAMM are currently considered side matches for sanctioned events. EJ
