Joe Burr
I am currently shooting a USGI 1911A1 in the Modern Category. I've looked over the rules and wanted to get some input here, would a "Fitz'd" modified trigger guard be allowed? In other words, can the trigger guard be removed from the frame and the pistol still be legal for Wild Bunch? I can't see any competitive advantage that could come from such a modification nor could I see a safety issue given that all the guns are carried without a round in the chamber. so it being holstered without a trigger guard doesn't pose an issue. Given all other handling requirements are followed I couldn't see any other issues either. From my my viewpoint the modification would be strictly cosmetic, maybe not appealing to everyone but it has some appeal to me anyway. Thoughts? Happy Jack
Modifying the trigger guard on a pistol is NOT listed as an "allowable modification" so therefore it would be ILLEGAL.
