Jorge
In reading the new handbook, it seems that as long as there is no round in the chamber, there is no penalty for either moving with the slide forward and the 1911 in hand, or for staging the 1911 with the slide forward after use. Are my interpretations correct ?
Boggus Deal
You are correct.

Abe E.S. Corpus
And it appears that we can load up to eight rounds in the 1911 magazines now? Do you think pistol sequences will continue to be multiples of seven?

Hands
Boggus, need your help here on a little different topic. New MD manual references mags to be worn opposite pistol; Shooter's Handbook appears to have that requirement removed? Or at least not referenced? What am I missing? Happy Jack
We REMOVED the requirement that magazines be worn on the opposite side of the body from the pistol. Another one of the rules carried over from Cowboy that in unnecessary. Who cares which side of the body you wear your magazines???
Hands
Towards the end of the movie, "Monte Walsh," just before Tom Selleck leaps his horse over the car stuck in the mud he is heard to say; "Robert, you can't know how little I care." Seems fitting to this clarification... However, next printing of the MD book should have the fifth bullet point under Holsters etc changed to be in lock step with the SHB to eliminate the confusion. Boggus Deal
Hands, HJ beat me to your answer. We try to make all the books match and hopefully, will do so soon. Thanks for catching that error.
marshal stone
If we went BACK to just the handbook and Match Director's guide it would solve a lot of this confusion. Trying to 'splain the 'splaining is where these issues come from. Marshal Stone
