lostvaquero
I know not highly regarded but regular SASS allows them.
Garrison Joe
Search. Covered beaucoup times. Asking why sometimes irritates folks, when the rules is the rules.
Grubslinger
Also please be aware that effective June 01, 2016 the Henry Big Boy rifle in 40 caliber and up is LEGAL for use in Sanctioned matches. The updated WBAS Handbooks will be issued in January 2017, per our usual policy. This is per Happy Jack.
Blackfoot
If the Henry Big Boy does become legal for Wild Bunch I hope that some cowboy does not purchase one without doing due dilligence concerning it' suitability for Wild Bunch Competition. Boggus Deal
Oh, it'll happen, Blackfoot. And then when they find out it don't work worth a pile of steaming s***, They'll whine about no gunsmiths and no parts and why isn't someone doing something to make it work. Grubslinger
Gentlemen, I am sorry if I was not clear. Per Happy Jack the Henry Big Boy in .40 cal or larger is legal as of June 1 2016 for Wild Bunch matches.
Blackfoot
Gentlemen, I am sorry if I was not clear. Per Happy Jack the Henry Big Boy in .40 cal or larger is legal as of June 1 2016 for Wild Bunch matches. We understand the .40 caliber or larger requirement. That is not the issue concerning the Big Boy being a suitable choice for Wild Bunch competition. Blackfoot
DUSTY BODDAMS
Gentlemen, I see a break down in communication. Grub slinger is making a statement of fact, not a position of argument. He is communicating that Happy Jack of the wild bunch committee is stating the Henry big boy IS legal in the proper caliber as of June 1, 2016. Happy Jack
The Henry Big boy in a legal caliber WAS MADE LEGAL in June 01, 2016. The new Handbooks that will issue in Jan. 1, 2017 will reflect that change. The reason was that a FEW CAS shooters already had one and wanted to shoot WBAS but didn't want to buy another rifle and also it has been legal in CAS for a long time and the time for holding grudges against Henry Repeating Arms is past. I agree that it is NOT a good choice but if you have one and want to shoot WBAS you can use it.
Garrison Joe
Maybe until the new rules handbook is available, posting a sticky at the top of the WB Rules section of the Forum would help everyone stay in sync with this new rule?
