Blackfoot
Anyone have experience shooting lead bullets in a 2 groove '06 barrel? Good, bad or ugly! Thanks, Blackfoot
Garrison Joe
No experience with 2 grooves, but Cast Boolit site has lots of comments about them. Sometimes a little harder to find a cast boolit that shoots well, but not impossible, according to them. They are reported to like a long and fat nose design. If you want to find 50 different opinions about this in one CB thread, check this one: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/archive/index.php/t-191007.html
Goatneck
Blackfoot we have had good results with lead bullets in the 2 grove barrels. I have several Springfield 1903 & 03A3's that shoot 1 to 1 1/2 MOA using lead bullets pushing them @ 1550 FPS. I use Federal Large Gold Medal Primers and IMR 4759 Powder and a Gas Check Lead Bullet. I have one 03A3 with a 4 grove barrel and I get the same results. Goatneck
