I wouldn't intentionally run it that close to the edge, 165 or so is comfortable to shoot and leaves a little wiggle room. (I do that after testing 150.7 at a match) Blackfoot

I have some but haven't tried it. I think it is a little slow for what I do, at least I like a faster burning pistol powder for WB loads. It is somewhere around HS 6 and Winchester Auto-Comp. I have it as an emergency item. Your mileage may vary. Blackfoot ,

If you are too young to know who Barney Fife is just search for "Mayberry RFD" and watch an episode or two. Blackfoot 8)

Stainless 1911's are legal for Wild Bunch Traditional. The finish does not matter unless it has other features that would make it legal only in Modern Cagegory. The basic Remington R1 stainless does not have any features that would make it legal only in modern category. The Wild Bunch Rule book lists the features that are legal in each category. Blackfoot

In Your Opinion, What is a "Real" Wild Bunch Match?
Blackfoot replied to Allie Mo's topic in The Wild Bunch Wire
Winter Range 2015 Wild Bunch match was a real Wild Bunch match.. Wild Bunch is not CAS with a 1911. Blackfoot :) -
The magazines must fit flush in the gun, no base pads are allowed. Find a magazine that fits well, drops out when released and feeds flawlessly. You will need about 6 of them. A lot of 1911 shooters like Chip McCormick magazines and they seem to work well. I personally like magazines with a skirted follower as they seem to work better in my guns, your mileage may vary. My choice is Mec Gar magazines but some shooters don't like them. There are a lot of different magazines on the market, you may find that some that work in someone else's gun may not work as well in yours. Many shooters use Tripp magazines and also I understand that Kimber now has a magazine that is leagal for Wild Bunch. FLUSH, FIT, FEED, FALL OUT and Slide lock are the things to look for. Choose carefully! l Blackfoot

Trigger Finger Not Outside Trigger Guard ...
Blackfoot replied to John Boy's topic in Wild Bunch Rules Forum
I don't think even that would justify the "plant and poke" rule. Blackfoot :o -
Lot of factors could be involved. My suggestion is use the starting load from a reloading manual. To make 125 pf you need about 550fps. After that, you are on your own!! Blackfoot 8)

Try version 7.1, page 11. Things do change. Blackfoot -
If the 1991 Colt doesn't have items or accessories that are not allowed, then it can be used in Wild Bunch traditional with no problem. Sorry, there is no short stroke available for a Winchester 94. If it is chambered for a caliber that is allowed in Wild Bunch just shoot it as is until you get ready to up-grade to a rifle that can be short stroked. Winchester and Uberti '73s along with '66s are the most common ones that are short stroked. Pistol must be .45 caliber and rifle .40 or larger in a pistol caliber. Blackfoot

Yes, I am interested in attending a Wild Bunch RO class. Blackfoot
-
Will there be a Wild Bunch RO class at Winter Range? Thanks, Blackfoot

Denton Dancer uses it for scoring Wild Bunch at Oakwood. I don't know the mechanics of it but it does modern, traditional and overall. Blackfoot

Has anyone determined any difference in velocity between loads using large and small primers in .45acp? Blackfoot

I have shot an R1 in traditional since day one. It has never failed to feed or function properly. In my opinion you can't go wrong with a Remington R1. Your mileage may vary. Blackfoot

New WB shooter with a magazine question
Blackfoot replied to Hurricane Deck's topic in Wild Bunch Rules Forum
Tripp, Colt, Chip McCormick, Mec-Gar, et al. If you go to the Wild Bunch Wire and do a search for "equpiment poll" you will find a thread devoted to magazines. Blackfoot -
New WB shooter with a magazine question
Blackfoot replied to Hurricane Deck's topic in Wild Bunch Rules Forum
Just bite the bullet and buy half a dozen really good magazines without base pads. Blackfoot -
I shoot traditional, left handed and it seems that slingshot racking is the most efficient for me. Also, when and if I have to do a manual slide lock it the only way to go. Blackfoot
-
I use slingshot exclusively, just feels right. Blackfoot
-
Simple enough, that is the way I had it figured. Blackfoot
-
I have been getting some mixed descriptions of overhand and slingshot method of racking the slide. Can someone give definitive descriptions of each. Thanks, Blackfoot

Anybody got a quick rundown on the changes covered in the new WB Rule Book? Thanks, Blackfoot
