  1. PG - Cowboy Action and Wild Bunch are 2 different shooting sports with 2 different Handbook regulations. Accept each as a stand alone - shoot one or the other or both and forget about any integration. Okie Dokie? :)

  3. Both new and used brass sellers will identify SP or LP. The used brass vendors will say 'maybe some SP cases in with the LP cases and I've been sold used brass with very few SP cases
  4. Col - Welcome! First of all, for Wild Bunch (WB) the 45 ACP ammunition has to be lead bullets. Looking around the Internet for you, here's the best price I could find for you at Buffalo Arms, which is in stock ... http://www.buffaloarms.com/45_ACP_Ammunition%20_it-1080901.aspx?CAT=4439 Only a couple of other vendors with 45 ACP with lead noses - but double the price You might want to also read the Wild Bunch Rules Handbook ... http://www.sassnet.com/Downloads/RO/Wild%20Bunch%20Handbook%20v7_1.pdf If you are planning to reload: * Buy once fired 45 ACP brass * 1000 bullets - 200gr * Large pistol primers * Unique or Red Dot powder (if you can find either now) * Dies and a press - your in business at less than 1/2 the cost of store bought
  5. Willy, the next trip to the reloading vendor, buy a 8# jug of Red Dot. One stop powder for reloading handgun - rifle and shot shells
  6. Push & Release works for me ... * Hold slide with left hand at the ribs * Push frame forward with right hand * Release the slide

  8. These laser small calibers would be a boon to the commercial ammunition supply ... The Government Accounting Office did a study related to the Iraq War ... it took 230,000 small caliber rounds to kill one insurgent
  9. Thanks Jack. I did note the left hand bars but saw the same bars on the 2013 version including the SASS logo at the bottom of each page. I'll pass the 2014 versions on to our Club TG's
  10. Nellie, are there any major changes between the 2013 & 2014 Handbooks other than font size? To compare 2 different pdf files, one has to buy Acrobat or buy Acrobat to convert 2 different pdf files to Word and then do the comparisons
  11. Sounds like the Model 12 parts needs a kerosene or pure turpentine bath and some brushing with a brass brush. Just soak the bolt and don't disassemble unless your competent reassembling it
  12. George - couple of Q's: * In what position are the arrows on the tube? * Is the bolt in or out of battery? Might want to read:
  13. Kid, you looking for parts? http://www.edbrown.com/triggercomponents.htm Kitchen Table Do It Yourself ? http://www.ktgunsmith.com/1911action.htm Or a Professional Gunsmith? http://www.theactionworks.com/1911.htm
  14. Allie, thoroughly enjoyed reading you post. Enthusiasm in each paragraph. Your Pure Spirit of the Game! Never had that many but 'my kind of shooting'. Have to talk it up here on the East Coast
  15. ... the number of rounds for a WB match is not small for handgun and rifle. Do you cast your own bullets and reload them? The thought came to me this afternoon casting 18 lbs of H&G 68's to get ahead of the inventory curve for future matches. In addition, cast & reload for the rifle and shotgun
  16. The lead bullet one might want to try is the Accurate mold copy of the H&G 68 - 200gr... http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=45-200H-D.png
