  1. Next on my list to get! Shoulda bought that instead of the Springfield but at the time I could only get the Springfield.
  2. Ramrod, what times for the 14th class?
  3. Shhhhhh!!! Dont tell anyone that, especially Schwaby! That's been my "excuse" for buying more.
  4. Dutch, my friend Headshot Hannah tried a number of times to register, I hope she was one of the ones you let thru. And yes she checked her spam numerous times AND sent a number of emails to SASS but never received a confirmation letter or a reply back. She called too. Finally she just gave up in frustration. She was able to get on the CAS forum but not this one so I would have to agree with others that there is something wrong and/or different between the CAS and WB forums. Thank you. Roper
  5. Boggus, how do you add weight? I thought someone used to sell a weighted follower?
  6. I attended the WV wild bunch match July 20-21 in Great Cacapon and it was a very good match! The people are awesome and the shooters prizes were above & beyond for a smaller match. They shot 5 stages then had lunch on both days. After lunch on Saturday they had a Doughboy and Teddy Roosevelt match plus speed events. The props were well done and innovative. This was a more traditional WB match but all of the targets were hittable (not that I did, but they were...). They had a tombstone plate rack that you shot with the shotgun, 2 Texas stars, a running buffalo, a popper with a water bottle flyer, chickens on stands (feather and button eyes included), traditional plate rack, swinger, and a huge target 83 yds away that lit up when you hit it. On one stage you had to guess your total time for the stage before you shot it and whoever came closest won a really nice Hornady range bag. This was my 2nd year attending (and their 2nd annual) and I will definitely be back. The couple that own the range (Texas Tommy & Lady Benson) are the nicest people and he's somewhat of a prankster which adds to the shoot's atmosphere. Next year's match is July 19-20, 2025 and if you can make it you should as you won't be disappointed. I stayed in Berkeley Springs which is 25 minutes from the range. For more details checkout their website www.wvcass.org. Thanks to everyone who helped out and ran it! I am looking forward to next year. Roper
  7. How will this affect EOT? 38's allowed?
  8. I saw the email from Misty to every SASS member regarding WB and the changes. Did I miss something in regards to updates between what we discussed as our proposal to SASS and todays email? I thought we had submitted our comments to SASS and have been waiting for their reply?
  9. The comments I have heard from our shooters is that they would like a nice WB specific buckle. Thanks Roper
  10. I personally love the 12's and absolutely hate the 97's. They snake bite me even just picking one up. I am pretty sure they do it on purpose, LOL. My model 12's (6 and counting, all smoothed up) all feel smoother than my 97's (one Winny & one Coyote Cap Norinco). 4 of my 12's have the flag and I like them better. Disclaimer: I am a double shooter for CAS and although I am decent with the 12 if I actually practiced with it and became proficient with it I would probably experience more mechanical issues but to date have only had a firing pin break on one of them and it was an older well used gun. Yes I am a gun hoarder but when you go to gun auctions and can pick them up for $200-300 they tend to follow you home somehow... Roper An admitted model 12 addict
  11. Welcome! Roper

  15. Thanks MK! Our crew works hard to put on a good shoot but the shooter's make it a great shoot.
  16. Thank you everyone that attended! We had 67 shooters and the weather was perfect! (For once we were glad the weathermen were wrong.) Thanks to Troop 54 who picked brass, served breakfast and lunch and had a fantastic bake sale. We also had the pleasure of having Serenity (Canadian WB Ambassador) and Legendary Lawman (WB ROC Committee) in attendance. Congrats to the NYS and category winners below! 17. The NYS Wild Bunch Championship hosted by the Circle K Rough Riders is June 11-12 at the Kayaderosseras Fish and Game Club in BallstonSpa, NY. Even with 5 cancellations we are at 68 shooters!! Stages are posted on the Circle K Regulators website, www.circlekregulators.com. If you can't make it this year hopefully you can next year. Renegade Roper
  18. GJ do you have a pic of this? Not sure what you mean or how much. Thanks Roper
  19. The NYS Wild Bunch Championship, Muster @ Ft. Misery, will be held May 15-16, 2021 in Ballston Spa, NY (upstate NY). We already have 65 shooters signed up!! This match is NOT cowboy with a 1911. We have a great mix of target sizes and distances, numerous specialty targets (single and double clay bird popper knockdown targets, dueling trees, plate racks, knockdowns, etc), stages are written to be left and right hand friendly when possible, and there's a variety of starting positions utilized. It's a fun but challenging match. You can check out the last 2 yrs stages at our website www.circlekregulators.com as well as get the application there. This year's stages will be posted a week or so before the match. Hope you can join us!
  20. Never mind I found it.
  21. Where is the link to the changes? Sorry I couldn't find it. Thanks.
  22. Thank you NK & LPL. I am glad you enjoyed the stages. I would like to thank all of our shooters, the RO's and all of the people that helped out. I look forward to next year's shoot which will be May 15-16, 2021. Roper
  23. There's a new shooter in our club who is looking to buy a 1911 (modern category) and a 73. What have you got?
  24. Since I shoot a sxs in CAS the biggest difference I noticed is that the model 12 is a PIA if you have to reload 2 for a popper on a stage with 8 rounds and aren't fast enough to single load both rounds. Getting your thumb stuck half in the mag tube is rather unpleasant. I also believe that the ejection port on the model 12 is smaller making single reloads slightly harder too. At least on mine when I compare them they are. Again I am a sxs shooter so for those that normally shoot a 97 in CAS they may be much more proficient at reloading the 12. Having said that I think my 12 is much smoother and would rather shoot that than the 97. I only use the 97 if I have a stage with 8 rounds and the reload has to be on a popper. Just my opinion though.
