  1. Leave Traditional 40cal or bigger with 150 PF... Modern can have all the 38 mouse farts and race guns they want...
  2. I shoot at Cass in wv only. We shoot once a month starting in April on the 3rd Sunday ending in October. I shoot traditional. We host the wv state wb championship and I've won traditional the last 2 years we've hosted it. However, with the mouse fart 38s now infiltrating traditional class, this is likely my last year shooting wb... I got into wb because with the heavy hitting 45s, shooter ability was more important than who can run the lever the fastest, unlike cas where 60pf 38 powder puff loads that the timers cant even hear dominate...
  3. I'm going to see if my club will let me shoot this in a monthly match.... I'm sure it will make pf...
  4. I used a pipe cutter, just take your time. I also ordered a .175 bead and tap and drill bit set.
  5. So I did it... Much handier now...
  6. I fill my stock bolt holes with flattened 45 colt bullets. My main shotgun is a 3" solid rib cut at 20" with jeweled 2 3/4 bolt and flagged lifter I got on eBay for like 30 bucks! The sucker is heavy and has very controllable recoil with the Estate 1oz factory loads I buy. How much are those weighted followers and where do I buy 2?
  7. 3 so far for cutting it, 0 against it. I'm cutting it tonight!
  8. So I picked up a back up model 12 for a song at the lgs a few months back. It was covered in surface rust but the action was very smooth for a gun made in 55 and probably only stored in a closet for the last 70 years or so (the barrel inside looks like a mirror). Anyway, at the wv wb state match this past weekend, my main shotgun decided stage 6 was the time for it to go on strike and quit working. So I grabbed "ole crusty" and went to work. Ole crusty isn't modified in the least bit save for a nice brown protective layer of "patina" but did get me through the rest of the match and won me another state traditional championship. Ole crusty has a modified choke 36 inch barrel. So the question is this, should I chop it off to 20" like my main gun or just leave it all alone in it's old crusty glory?
  9. So, to stay competitive against 38 mousefarts, I'd need a 24" barrel on my 45colt 92, 141gn .454 round balls in 45colt cases loaded to 450fps (that the timer can't hear) then write a whole match with "rifle MUST be last"? Challenge accepted
  10. with 90 grain 38s at a pf of 60, not anymore... now its just like CB, whoever moves the lever the fastest wins... i wonder how long until 22's are allowed? maybe even airsoft... heck, maybe just whoever can yell "pow! pow! i got you!" the fastest will be in the future... I got into WBAS because with the allowed guns and calibers, skill had more factor in being competitive than whoever can buy the most expensive guns and load the softest ammo does like in CAS, but alas, thats all been ruined so I'm quittting WBAS... it was fun for the short time i was involved...
  11. whats a "black pin"?
  12. Can we just make traditional all 40 or larger? leave the mouse farts and race guns in the modern category... Or start allowing the 1917 browning...
  13. ☝️This!!!☝️ I'm probably quitting since now i'll have to go buy a 38 rifle with a carbon fiber mag, short stroke kit and start loading mouse fart 38's which also will require me to purchase new brass, primers and dies just to stay competitive.
  14. Wv state wb champioship starts tomorrow and it was brought up because I shoot traditional and my 1911 is modified like the one in the frank norfleets pic, not as much but close. Thanks for the clarification.
  15. Is this mod ok for traditional?
