  1. Hmm, recycled floor brooms, that's funny. The mod 12 has made it's way to a gunsmith for a barrel cut, along with a stoeger double.
  2. Got the plug out,it was a whittled down broomstick. Shotgun holds 6, kinda got to get used to the feel of this pump gun. It has a very light trigger, 3lb range.
  3. lostvaquero, I am using Bullseye just cause I got a couple pounds of it sitting around, good bit of unique also.
  4. Just had to buy another gun for a new sport ;D So a model 12 has come my way serial number is in the 120000 range, if what I looked up is correct, that should be a 1949 year model. Has a plug, was only able to get three rounds in it. Full choke barrel but does seem to cycle ok, after ZI learned the rounds can run into the riser I guess you would call it. Good price, was advertised as refinished, they did a good job, a very good job on the blueing, it looks good.
  5. We are in the same boat, I will be loading for 45acp and 44 mag. I just got some 200gr 45 SWC's in, my pistol liked the load I tried, which was around 4 gr bullseye, but I believe it may be a touch light. I have just ried a very light loaded .40 S&W with a 155 plated bullet and 231 powder. This is a soft shooter. I have used tightgroup for years with lead bullets, but it is a fast hot powder that will give you some smoke. I gonna experiment some.
  6. The Rock Island seems to just love 200 gr cast SWC'S. Load was probably a little light, too cloudy to chrono.
  7. Finally, after a month, got an order of hard cast lead bullets in. Going to load up a bunch and put the Rock Island through it's paces.
  8. Yeah, I have already talked to my leather guy about some pouches, new belt, etc. Anybody shot one of the RIA for awhile with a lot of rounds? Do the MIM internals hold up?
  9. Been out of SASS for awhile, trying to get back started and came across this Wild Bunch stuff. It appears there is a match within driving distance from me. I still have my first SASS rifle, a stock Rossi 92 in 44 mag. Not great, still stiff, but should do. Have several original 97's, and a Norinco. Got the Nori out last night and was surprised that it will just hold 6 rounds and functions. What is this follower and spring mod I read about? Is it necessary? Picked up an RIA GI 45 last week. So far it has been dead reliable, even shot it while running a guy through qualification course last night. Shoots a touch low past 15 yards, but the stock sights are dead centered. Slide to frame fit is tight, as is barrel bushing. Around 150 rounds through it so far, be interested to see how it holds up. I have a molded leather pancake holster for the pistol, and leather mag pouch. Will this holster suffice?
