  1. Thank you everyone.

The rifle I am assured is a K31.  Thank you for the load data, I try to use Trail Boss in almost all my loads (and Unique in the few that do not work well with TB).

As I mentioned not sure quite yet.  Big problem is the time of year and resources......ugh!

I did a lot of reading on the rifles and I am really interested now in these rifles.

Most writers have said that since neutral Swiss were not under the restrictions that other countries where that the materials and craftsman ship did not suffer.  Also, few saw more than occasional use (practice mostly) and most have decent bores on them.  Yes, furniture may show some dings and bumps from storage and movement but this is going to be a shooting rifle not a collector anyway.  As long as no real bad cracks then that does not bother me.

    Again thank you.

  2. I think it was altered after the fact.  Thanks I am taking a pass on the rifle then.

There is also a carbine I have looked at but it looks a bit rough.

A rifle that is a bit pricey.  The wood and blueing have all been redone.  Bore looks alright.

    Is the carbine legal?

I know there are a bunch of other BAMM rifles out there but kind have fallen in love with the Krag with its somewhat oddball loading mechanism.

  3. A couple more questions.  The rifle I am looking at is a Krag Jorgensen sporter rifle.  It has been redone and rebuled.  Also the sights have been changed out with aperture rear sight and globe front sight.  Has it been changed too much to be legal for BAMM?  I believe the barrel has been redone as well since it looks very shiny with good rifling visible and no pitting.
  4. There was support for a change at the EOT TG meeting. However a change would have to be voted on by the TG's and there are no plans for a Summit in the foreseeable future. I don't expect a change in CAS for at least three years. We are looking at it but not for 2019 as the new rules are already being reviewed before release later this year.

New rules for CAS or WB or both?  Sorry if not quite following.

  5. As mentioned WB has less emphasis on costuming.  In a lot of the west though the clock turned from nineteenth to twentieth century it was not nuch more than a date.

Technically while cowboy/ranch wear and preWW1 military, I think any late Victorian to Edwardian clothing would be alright.  For reference the Titanic sank in 1912 which gives you an idea of roughly non Western clothing in about the same time frame.

  6. Well after Guns of the Old West article, binged watched The Son.  1911s, lever actions, broomhandle mauser, 1897 shotguns, bolt action rifles, and a nice 1907 Winchester self loader, even a Lewis macine gun all set at 1915 very close to what WB is set at.  I know it got me itching to go to next WB match.
