  1. Yes Because of the heat no one wanted to reset targets for the main match the following day so we shot the stages with 5 rounds per mag with a total of 4 mags per stage.
  2. FUN. 😁😁😁 Shooting Black Power in the 2026 Black Gold Wild Bunch side match. No cleaning or other maintenance for all 4 stages. 1 1/8 of shot over 65 grains of ffg. 44 WCF loaded with a heavily compressed load of fffg under a 200 grain bullet. 45 ACP filled with Triple 7 to the base of a 200 grain powder coated bullet. 1911 was still going strong after 80 rounds. Chamber of my 87 started sticking after 20 or 21 rounds. First time that has happened.
  3. I was wrong The ones I have with the removable base plates are Wilson Combat Low Profile magazines and I checked even though they are Low Profile they are too long so they wouldn't be WB legal. When I bought them many many moons ago the base plates were thin metal that fit inside the magazine and held in by the rolled sides of the magazine body. These mags do not have slots cut into the sides of the magazine so that style base plate will not work. I can't get to my Tripp mags at the moment so I can't verify the base plates but looking through my paperwork they are P/N 7R-45-WG which have welded base plates.
  4. I bought mine years ago and they have just a thin metal flat plate vice the raised alloy plate.
  5. I was wrong. My Appologies
  6. There is NO REQUIREMENT that magazines have welded base plates. Don't know where you got that from but AFAIK it has never been a requirement.
  7. Contact Hasting Holsters. He makes good double mag holders for WB and he supports our sport.
  8. Unfortunately even the reputable manufacturers miss the mark. I've discovered that my L.E. Wilson case gage for 44-40 is not made correctly. The portion that is supposed to check the case neck diameter is WAY over sized. Unfortunately I discovered this long after I bought it so I doubt that they'll make it right.
  9. Don't have my load data readily available but I've had great success with TightGroup.
  10. Happy New Year
  11. Couple of possibilities; Is the new tube perfectly round? If not you'll have problems Not sure if the Model 12 and a model 97 use the same tube. Someone may have sold you one for a Chinese clone. They look identical but the threads are different so they are not interchangeable.
  12. Send it to a Smith that has some experience. Dent removal has a bit of a learning curve and if things don't go as planned, a replacement mag tube is probably hard to come by.
  13. I would submit a request to the ROC requesting approval.
  14. Oakwood Outlaws in TX offer those categories as part of their Monday matches. The folks that regularly shoot the Monday match usually get together and pick which category they want to emphasize to create more friendly competition. I am retiring at the first of the year and plan to take advantage of their 3 day monthly matches. For those like me that live a little far away they have a bunkhouse and RV spaces for a nominal fee. That way I can make attending the match like a mini vacation.

  16. Guess I'm going to have to figure out who my TG is and express my displeasure. I think I know who it is but he hasn't attended a match in well over a year.☚ī¸
  17. How about posting the changes here?
  18. If there is enough interest, is there a chance of adding a Black Powder category?
  19. As others have stated filler in bottle necked cases is not a good idea. My recommendation is "The Load" is 13 Grains of Red Dot" by Ed Harris
  20. WHY??? Are they also going to eliminate Doughboy?
  21. The 6th round sits on the carrier. When you close the action it is pushed part way into the magazine tube. Some 1887's will hold six with no modification. Others need a slight modification to hold the 6th round. Explained nicely below. First the review and then the fix
  22. With the Memphis Gunslingers at the TN State BP match
  23. @Jim MillerThanks for posting.
