  1. I've been shooting one (Codymatic), for several years, runs like a typical race gun built by him... A lot faster than I am.. May not be saying much though.. Never had a problem with it or any rifle by Cody........
  2. Probably none of my business since I wasn't there... But I really can't ignore it since I saw it on the web... How would you like to be standing by this guy for the Posse Photos?? Glad I wasn't...
  3. Would be hard to tell without seeing the shotgun but it is a "balancing act" between the mag spring and cartridge stops and how much pressure is applied to them by the carrier when it drops. I would try a little more mag spring pressure, maybe a little less cartridge stop pressure and check the ends of the stops where the cartridge slides past them. I have had to smooth and sometimes change the angle slightly to achieve a reliable reload. If you are not comfortable with working on them, find a good 97 smith.... If you get one right, they will be reliable with just about any ammo .......
  4. I've got a "CodyMatic".... Runs a lot faster than I ever will.... Never had a problem with it either........
  5. Could be the spring is not going down inside of the follower... Make sure it is inside and then slide it in the mag tube...
  6. Found it...... The problem occurs if the extra rounds are fired in the middle of the stage instead of at the end. This problem came up when we wrote the "illegally acquired ammunition" rule. While it is certainly "kinder" to the shooter to take the time off used when firing the extra rounds, it is clearly unfair to do it differently if they were fired at the end of the stage as opposed to during the middle of the stage. One shooter fires extra rounds in the middle of the stage, their total time stands, another fires extra rounds at the end, their time is "adjusted down" clearly UNFAIR. That is why the time is not adjusted for the "illegally acquired" ammunition rule. The total time recorded for ALL rounds fired is used and then the 10 second "P" time is added on top of that. The correct call is clearly a Procedural for failing to follow stage instructions. The shooter cannot be charged with MORE misses than there were targets so whether the last 5 rounds struck ANY targets or not is a mute point. In a CAS match the total time for ALL rounds fired plus 10 seconds would be the stage time recorded. The Committee will have to discuss this a bit further.
  7. Seems like this was discussed a few years ago and the ruling was a "P" plus time spent. No other penalties or misses since the rounds were not part of the scenario.
  8. Amen Brothers,,, I get sick of hearing about Frontier gun fighter over there. You can shoot gun fighter with any powder you want.
  9. Anyone have/had a 73 in 45acp ? Thinking about getting or maybe even building one. Are they , or should say can they be as smooth and reliable as the standard calibers ? ....... Anyone ? ............ Mink...............
  10. Ranger, anything other than ALL lead bullets are not an option when using steel targets due to bullet splatter.....And they do not damage or hurt the barrel any worse than jacketed bullets. At the slow velocities we use, barrel leading is rarely a problem when using a good quality hard cast bullet. Depending on the bullet hardness, serious leading doesn't occur until you push it past 12- 1500 FPS. And cleaning is no different, use a good bore solvent to remove any lead left in the barrel..............Mink............
