Jorge
Which small sidearms are used for the developing side matches? Revolvers, small autos? Also, anyone have knowledge of the Savage .32?
lostvaquero
Turn of century to about WW1 design semi autos. Center fire 25 scp to 380 acp. I think the savage is fine but people way more knowledgable will jump in. Colt 1903/05 pocket hammerless, Browning 25acp, Walther PPK those are examples original or replica. DUSTY BODDAMS
Savages are great little pistols. Fast and fun. Know of a couple of these being used and after market mags are available that work. Lots of hammerless colts being used in 32 and 380. At the Texas state 3 steel plates were used double tap each with the seventh shot on center. Shooter started mag in pistol barrel on table at the beep rack and fire! A very well received side match. Dusty
Jorge
Would a Mauser 1910 be acceptable? If you used a Walther PP or PPK, would it have to be old manufacture?
lostvaquero
Would a Mauser 1910 be acceptable? If you used a Walther PP or PPK, would it have to be old manufacture? As long as same design. Considered a replica sort of. So quick answer PP p r PPK legal. I stand corrected I went back to proposed rules and 1945 is cut off date for design of pistol. PPK is fine and proposed rules actually named Mauser 1910 as an example.
Jorge
Where are the "proposed rules?" Are jacketed bullets/factory ammo used or are lead bullets used?
DUSTY BODDAMS
Jorge, mauser 1910 is a perfect pistol. We are on a range that is lead only. The 32 and 380 lead bullets are easy to get and we also have a custom loader that will do loaded ready to go lead ammo. POP.txt
Jorge
Thanks for the info. I'll be looking into a Mauser 1910/14 (for .32 acp). Who can I contact for the ammunition you referenced?
Jorge
Also, does it matter which version on the 1910 is used or when it was actually make? I was thinking of the 1914, but would the 1934 be OK for use?
DUSTY BODDAMS
Any of those would be great!
lostvaquero
Magtec makes 32 acp with lead only bullets. Run fine in my 1903.
