Col Del Rio
Greetings, Is the Henry Big Boy allowable for Wild Bunch? Is it an acceptable rifle for regular SASS? Thanks, Colonel Del Rio
Goody
I'm sorry, apparently I was mistaken.
Blackfoot
It is rare to see one used in SASS competition, both CAS and Wild Bunch. There is a reason that they are not commonly used. Blackfoot :)
Happy Jack
I am just back from EOT (20 minutes ago) the Henry Big Boy is ILLEGAL for WBAS Sanctioned matches. It is NOT a copy of a period firearm and a rerquest for allowance has NOT been received from Henry. This position was reaffirmed by HIPSHOT at the Committe meeting. Abe E.S. Corpus
Colonel, the HBB is legal for SASS Cowboy Action Shooting. There is a specific provision in the Shooter's Handbook that makes it so, even though "it is not a reproduction of anything" that existed in the 19th Century. As is often discussed on the SASS Wire, the HBB is not highly favored by cowboy shooters. The Wild Bunch Action Shooting rules did not "pick up" the language allowing the HBB. This is one example where the WBAS rules differ from their cowboy action counterparts.
