lostvaquero
I was looking at a local club and I saw M which was modern, T for traditional but some O which indicated on the score Open class. Is this a sort of unofficial category?
DUSTY BODDAMS
LV, open class at our club anyway is just that. Any 1911,any pump shotgun and any sass legal rifle. Score is not kept.this is to give new folks a chance to try wild bunch without committing to the equipment required. I think we might have had 1 person in 3 years take advantage of open class. Lone Dog
In SASS CAS or WBAS we never shoot in classes only categories. But, that said, Dusty has it right. We offer it also, no takers. I shoot it when I want to save the large caliber more expensive rifle ammo and utilyze my 357 rifle.
August West
In our "Open Class", you might find: 1. People shooting a second time during the match for practice 2. People without the proper firearms 3. People who do not have firearms in the proper calibers 4. People who are knowingly shooting ammunition below required power factor 5. People who do not wish to compete, but only practice At our matches, 'Open' shooters get a total time, but are not in competition with any other participant. vaquero
At our club, open means any 12 ga. pump shotgun, any center fire semi-auto pistol, that shoots lead bullets, and a Wild Bunch rifle. It is just to get people interested in shooting in Wild Bunch, and to just have fun shooting.
Allie Mo
Hi Lost, We also have an Open Category at Gold Country Wild Bunch. It is usually populated by people shooting non-standard guns. A score is listed with the Open shooters below the others. Regards, Allie
Nellie Blue
The called it the "Bonnie and Clyde" match at Hell Fire this weekend and the men and women were all in it together. If it gets people interested in Wild Bunch, I'm all for it.
