  1. I was searching the WB forum contact tab, and discovered that there is only three USA Wild Bunch Certified Instructors listed? Is this listing outdated, I'm sure there has to be more WB instructors out there somewhere. Am also curious about if there is a notice or requirement about re-certifying as an WB RO/TO, posted somewhere, or when is an appropriate time frame for re-certifying? Is there a need for more Instructors? And how does one become an WB instructor? Locally in Colorado we are trying to grow, and this may spark more WB shooters interest in becoming certified RO's. So how would we get an instructor to Colorado, for those who can't travel, to get certified? It's possible I'm may not be looking in the right places for some answers? BTW the WB match at WR was great. Thanks to all for a awesome time! TriggerHappy Ted #88160 Pawnee Station-CIC
  2. Union Jack, try the rules section now, I just posted a comment under "Scores" about 45 minutes ago. It works for me. It might be fixed. TriggerHappy Ted CEO Pawnee Station
  3. Fellas, I'm having a very hard time convincing my fellow Wild Bunchers to come and shoot at my Colorado State match, due to the Stage Point scoring system. Mainly due to the recent anomalies that have plagued the major matches the last couple of years, using the current scoring system. Having contacted several of the shooters that shoot Wild Bunch they ask me what scoring system I'm using for the state match. By SASS contract, we're obligated to use Stage Point scoring. My shooters have decline to come and shoot my match, for this very reason, they don't like the current scoring system. They all want Total Time as the main system for scoring a match plain and simple, any match, monthly, annual, state, national or world championship. I'm losing shooters. I have 6 signed up for my state match. I have less than 10 weeks until my match at the end of September. Any suggestions on how to get them re-interested in Wild Bunch? We're going to see a sharp decline in attendance at our major matches if we don't update some of the rules. I'm sure we can figure out how to handle a SDQ in the scoring. And let's start using the 1911 as it should be, 7 round magazine loads. I for one enjoy shooting both CAS and WB. TriggerHappy Ted Pawnee Station CEO/Match Director
  4. Afternoon fellas, wanted to reply, before I head out for EOT. My home club, Pawnee Station, at Great Guns Sporting in Nunn, Colorado, holds a monthly Wild Bunch match the Sunday after the 3rd Saturday cowboy match. I have been writing and setting up the stages for the last 3 years. My scenarios are written for 7 round magazines. Round count for a match is usually between 150 to 200 acp. Stages vary between 21 rounds to 35 rounds of acp. Once in a great while I'll throw in a 42 round pistol only stage. We enjoy 6 stages of Wild Bunch on these Sundays. We don't have a big following, but we're happy to get 8 to 10 shooters. Sometimes more sometimes less. My rifle count varies from 5 rounds per stage to 10, shotgun no less than 4, mostly 5 or 6 rounds per stage. We also have a variety of targets, dueling trees to standard targets, to 2 new target sets (tombstone rack and a cowboy plate rack), yet to be used. We are starting to see some new interest from the local "all auto shooters". Target sets are the same for cowboy, just moved back some. Might add a couple here and there, but setup is simple and less strenuous for a two day shoot. Just my 2 cents worth. You're all invited to come out to Pawnee for the Colorado State Championship, September 30th & October 1st. Fun with a 1911, the Colorado way. TriggerHappy Ted #88160
  5. After reading the WB guidelines/contract, am wondering if there is any possibility to holding a two state Wild Bunch match. Wyoming does not have a Wild Bunch organization/match (never has) and the WB shooters would like to be recognized/included in Colorado's (Pawnee Station @ Nunn, Colorado) state match this year. So my question is: can Wyoming and Colorado hold a combined WYCOLO State Wild Bunch match? TriggerHappy Ted
  6. It is. They still shoot monthly, Sand Creek Raiders. Check out their website. TriggerHappy Ted
  7. So GJ, maybe my next question has been answered before, but how or why was it determined and by whom to just load the magazine with 5 rounds instead of 7? Knowing that Wild Bunch is not cowboy action shooting with a 1911. I'm not trying to stir up any trouble here, just asking why 5 rounds instead of 7. TriggerHappy Ted
  8. I was reading the SASS CAS state match rules for the Match Event under bullet #3 it states: "Any side match that uses the "Wild Bunch" name MUST follow SASS Wild Bunch rules with the respect to firearms and ammunition." I am wondering if a 4 stage side match at a state shoot, may use 7 rounds in a magazine instead of 5 rounds. The Wild Bunch handbook says the firearms shall be .40 caliber or larger rifle, 1897 pump, and a 1911 of 45acp caliber. There is no mention in the side match portion of the WBHB that only 5 rounds must be used in a magazine. So is 7 round magazines ok for a side match at state shoots?
  9. Howdy all, first post. Here in Colorado at the Pawnee Station at Great Guns in Nunn, I also run WB stages with 7 rounds per mag. However, our round count per stage varies between 21 to 35. With 5 to 7 rounds rifle and 2 to 6 shotgun. We shoot the 1st Sunday of the month and today had only 5 shooters, graduation and all here, but the 5 of us had a great time, scoring, policing and all. Some stages I write is for the 1911 only, usually 35 to 42 rounds, shooting from 5 different positions. It a hoot to shoot! Our times vary from 40 to 130 seconds per shooter. We start at 9am and are done by noon. So three hours seems like a long time for 5 shooters, there is a lot of laughing and heckling going on after each shooter, and we all have our gun problems as well. We may be small but we're trying to get bigger each shoot. We'll have a 4 stage mini match over the 4th of July at our State Championship match all are welcome to come to Colorado and have a great WB & Cowboy shoot. Thanks all. Hope to see some of you at EOT. TriggerHappy Ted (88160)
