  1. Follow on to the other thread about Mod 12 mag extension. Solution was the change out Mos 12 mag tube for 3 gun and WB. Mag tubes for Mod 12 seem plentiful, mag extensions are not. But mag tube extensions for Mod 1200 seem available. From what I've been able to decipher from web info, the difference between Mod 12 and Mod 1200 seems to be manufacturing process changes, not design changes. Does anyone know whether a Mod 1200 mag tube extension will work with a Mod 12 mag tube? Appreciate those who share their knowledge and experience. B Slim
  2. Thanks for the responses. I'm taking a 3 gun class at a local club, and the guys were kind of scraping the clouds with their noses when I showed up with my '97. They all had Brownings and Remingtons tricked out specially for 3 gun, with long magazines, some of which extended past the end of the barrel. I had never thought of swapping out magazines tubes on the model 12 when using it for 3 gun, and back to stock for WB. I wanted to use the model 12 because I find I can do the dual shotshell loading thing easier with the model 12 than with the '97, plus the 30 inch barrel would allow for the magazine extension. Anyway, thanks again for the suggestions. B Slim B Slim
  3. I use a Model 12 as backup for my 97, which has been behaving poorly of late. I also use the Moel 12 (30 inch barrel) for trap, and am thinking of getting into 3 gun fun. I can legally use the Model 12 for all 3 games, but with a 6 round mag, the Model 12 is at a disadvantage in 3 gun. So am considering extending the magazine to hold an additional 2 or 4 rounds. My question is whether a Model 12 with a mag extension would still be legal for WB, understanding that I couldn't load more then 6 shells in a WB match. Appreciate any advice. B Slim
  4. My wife enjoys shooting a 1911, Kimber Custom 2, 5 inch barrel, but doesn't have the strength to rack the slide. Understand many mature women may have this problem. Also understand that I just can't put a lighter spring as recoil with a spring that is too light may damage the frame. Is anyone aware of a chart that could be used to match the Power Factor of a reload with the minimum recoil spring strength. Or has anyone found a way to safely reduce the effort to rack the slide of a 1911? WB would be a good way for her to gain proficiency with the 1911. She does CAS, which she really enjoys, and is quite confortable using guns. Appreciate anyone who can share their knowledge, or offer advice.
