  1. Thank you for the tips. I will be checking & cleaning & ordering new shell stops & springs. Deputy Dan
  2. Symptom 1: The shell does not come out of the magazine. It may take 2 or more pumps of the slide to get the shell to come out of the magazine. Maybe worn shell stops or shell stop springs for this issue as well? Other than Numrich, is there any other reliable supplier for replacement parts? Thank you for any further assistance. Deputy Dan
  3. Roger Rapid siminoff@siminoff.net He has an excellent guide for the disassembly/assembly of the Pedersoli Lightning and other brands. It also includes tuning tips for the common problems associated with these rifles. Deputy Dan
  4. Hello, I have a Norinco (IAC) '97 with 2 symptoms: (1) Sometimes it will not feed a round into the chamber. This will occur regardless of how fast or slow I work the slide. 2) Sometimes while feeding a round into the chamber the following round will drop out of the bottom of the gun. Thank you for any assistance. Deputy Dan
  5. Hello, For the second through last shot: Should I be holding the trigger at the reset position while waiting on recoil recovery as well as moving gun to the next sight picture then pulling the trigger? I.E. trigger pull, (reset, wait, sight picture), trigger pull...etc. Or Should I be holding the trigger at the pulled position while waiting on recoil recovery as well as moving gun to the next sight picture then do the reset & pull the trigger? I.E. trigger pull, (wait, sight picture), reset, trigger pull...etc. Thank you, Deputy Dan
  6. Kid Rich, Happy Jack, Thank you for your opinions. I do agree with them. The following sentence can be found in the "Wild Bunch Action Shooting Handbook", Version 7.1, August 2014, Page 11: "Empty of live ammunition, action open, and muzzle down range" Would it be possible to include in the next version of the handbook an "Official" Wild Bunch definition of the term "Live Ammuntion"? Thank you, Deputy Dan
  7. Dusty Boddams, I am not talking about picking up rounds that have been ejected from the gun. I am not talking about making ammunition available or unavailable to a shooter. Please dis-regard any previous statements or examples I have posted. My question is simply the following: In Wild Bunch Shooting what is the definition of the term "Live Ammunition"? Thank you for your patience, Deputy Dan
  8. Hello, How does the attached version of "Movement with a Long Gun" look? Thank you, Deputy Dan
  9. Dusty Boddams, I believe your question concerning "in what capacity" is part of the definition of "Legal or Illegally Acquired" ammunition. The manuals are pretty explicit about that definition. I would think regardless of when or where the ammunition is located, ammunition is either "Live" or "Dead". I can think of three states the ammunition can be in: (1) A round with an unstruck primer, powder and bullet all intact. (2) A round with a struck primer and empty of powder and bullet. (3) A round with a struck primer with powder and bullet still intact. I believe state (1) is considered "Live" ammunition. I believe state (2) is considered "Dead" ammunition. Is state (3) "Live" or "Dead" as defined in the sport of Wild Bunch? Thank you, Deputy Dan
  10. Hello, I could not find the definition of "Live Ammunition" in any of the Wild Bunch manuals. Would a round that has had its primer struck by a firing pin but did not fire be considered "Live", "Dead" or maybe "In Limbo"? Thank you, Deputy Dan
  11. Hello, I have attached a PDF document. The document has a flowchart representing Movement with a Long Gun in Wild Bunch. I am using the term "Long Gun" to represent both a rifle and a shotgun. Have I documented the legal way the state of a Long Gun must be in to allow a Shooter to move with the Long Gun in hand? Any and all comments, critiques, etc.are welcome. Thank you, Deputy Dan
  12. Hello, Under the MDQ section the following phrase is used: "Two Spirit of the Game/Failure to Engage assessments." Which are the correct interpretation of the above sentence: (A) If 2 Spirit of the Game penalties are assessed to a shooter he has earned a MDQ. (B) If 2 Failure to Engage penalties are assessed to a shooter he has earned a MDQ. © If 1 Spirit of the Game penalties and 1 Failure to engage penalties are assessed to a shooter he has earned a MDQ. (D) All of the above Thank you, Deputy Dan
  13. I have sent him an email requesting class schedules. Thank you. Dana
  14. I live in San Carlos, California. I shoot Wild Bunch with the Sunnyvale Regulators and the Coyote Valley Cowboys. I took the Wild Bunch class about a year ago and have been shooting it on a monthly basis since then. I am just starting to take on Timer Operator duties. I find that reading and understanding the rules from a shooter's perspective is quite a bit different than a Timer Operator's viewpoint. If a ROII class for Wild Bunch is not offered I will gladly take a refresher Wild Bunch course. Who do I contact in my area about a Wild Bunch class schedule? Thank you, Deputy Dan
  15. Thank you for the information. I am getting a better sense of the original intent and current status of these rules. I will be passing this thread onto our local Match Director. We may need to change our current stage design ideas given the information you have provided. Is there a "ROII" type class specifically for Wild Bunch? Deputy Dan
  16. Thank you for your answers. Does the answer change if the Course of Fire requires two strings of fire for the long gun with an intervening gun used between the strings of fire? To simplify it a bit assume the long gun is loaded only with enough rounds to complete both strings. Also, I am not sure if I should post a new topic for the following questions. My quote from page 11 of the SHB seems to directly conflict with the penalty overview for Minor Safety Penalties found on page 19: Page 11 : Safe to Leave a Shooter's Hands - "Hammer fully down on an empty chamber or expended round, action closed (restaged for further use)" Page 19 : Minor Safety Violation - "Not leaving a long gun action open at the end of the shooting string or before the next firearm is fired" Page 19 : Minor Safety Violation - "Leaving live rounds in magazine or carrier of the long gun in which it was loaded" The page 11 quote specifically states the action can be closed. The page 11 quote does not say what the status of the magazine needs to be. I.E. empty or loaded. To me that implies it is the shooter's choice. I believe the page 19 rules clearly contradict the rules on page 11. Which rules take precedence and why? Thank you, Deputy Dan
  17. Hello, On page 11 of the Wild Bunch Action Shooting Handbook, Version 7.0, June 2014 there is the phrase : "Hammer fully down on an empty chamber or expended round, action closed (restaged for further use)" If a course of fire requires the long gun to have only a single string of fire can a shooter place an overloaded long gun down with the "hammer fully down on an empty chamber or expended round, action closed" and the non-fired overloaded rounds in the magazine? Does the order of when the long gun is fired, i.e. first gun, middle gun or last gun have any effect? Thank you, Deputy Dan
