  1. Im still missing the part where you have participated in a REAL Wildbunch match. I think before you try to have anything changed or talk high/low about any part of the sport you should attend and compete in a WB match. You'd realize the costumes are very prevalent and around. the 1 handed shooters are just as fast as the 2 handed in some cases. the "speed gear" isnt really speedy and leather mag pouches are very realistic. Some "few" people ive seen shoot black powder in WB. If you count kimber as a quality comp gun i would advise you to 5 other brands first. And your cheap end 1911 a1 runs in the mid 500$ range. a decent modern gun starts in the 700-800$ range. hardly a big $ difference.. My Wildbunch gun for 10 years now is a STI Spartan made in the Philippines under Armscor that retailed at the time around 775$ And the only super modern crazy wild speed parts added to most peoples guns (including mine) are adjustable sights, beaver tail (no speed advantage) and trigger job. Some guns come with triggers that are great stock.. small magwells aren't even allowed. I can consistently shoot my model 12 faster than my 97 with 6 stoked....but its an average of maybe .2 seconds. and my model 12 works mostly, all the time. lol. So I don't think any part of the sport has been ridiculous so far or changed for the worse, all for the better. Real WB matches are far from speedy, not very common that targets are close and fast and targets should never be closer than 7 yards. This last year at worlds I set several 30+ yard targets. You should make your way sometime!
  2. Don't worry guys, post hijacked or not my feelings aren't hurt! haha I ain't no damn snowflake! But Yeah I posted this HERE because I don't want to read 95% of the stupid comments ill get on the sass wire. . . Especially from people that don't even shoot in general... nor care about wildbunch....nor have a life... This is the WIldBunch Wire and we should treat it as such. And baltimore, with all respects buddy I've been here since the start of WB. .  not to mention my father is in the WB Committee. So I know all about the start of the sport and what the rules were and what it was like. I participated in the first WB world championship and we had modern sights ect.. at that time. So I'm not on board with some of the things you are saying, especially the part where you've NEVER shot WB match..LOL You should go do that at some point before having anything to say about how to change or better the sport, especially the shooting aspect to it.  And this sport was NEVER a sport to copy the movie, that's a false belief. Yes the movie is a high base for it but that doesn't mean youll see enfield da revolvers, browning machine guns or lugers. If you make the costumes, belts n gear rules anymore anal than they are... the sport dies... that day... appreciate you all !
  3. This thread was purely about the website and how more effort, if any at all, to making it modern and decent would help people come on in and checkout what they've been missing.. It would also help SASS . . . a couple well done videos of shooting and pictures of big shoots and winners.. Some pictures of well dressed WB guys/gals as well as those of us that wear jeans and a long sleeve henley, could help some of those shooters who screw around on the internet and stumble upon our website! Was hoping to bring awareness to it seeing as its the most half ass, old website i've ever seen for a shooting sport. Not a thread about how to improve WB as a sport exactly.  But with some of these comments ill say if you are shooting wildbunch at close cowboy targets, then you are shooting at a poor venue. WB has a very different feel to it as far as targets and shooting goes compared to CAS, if the stages are done right. And I would love more Bolt rifle stuff.
  4. My most dependable firearm I've ever competed with would have to be my STI Spartan made at Armscor. . . . . granted its made with STI specs and has had top notch work done to it. Still says "Armscor" on the side of the frame! So I guess that kind of, somewhat counts and the Spartan models were great for the money. 650$ or so.
  5. 1. They state "RPM are AT LEAST 2x as Strong as Any Traditional 1911 Magazine Feed Lips".................... Well I sure hope so, because no serious competitors in any sport use traditional style feed lips. Tripp as well as some others use metal on metal with polymer. And it works really really well.

    2. These don't effect our sport in any way and the shooters in other sports I have seen at top levels use Tripp/brown/wilson mags for the most part.

    3. I've seen CMC mags used a lot more in the 10rd 9mm config.

  6. Not any different really than having a rifle that is over loaded with 11 rounds and placing it back on the shooter table with the action open and a round in the carrier. Its actually safer if the 1911 slide closes rather than the rifle's action because the 1911 has a grip safety. I don't see anything wrong there.  8)

If you did that you get a penalty mSv.
