Make Do Posted Thursday at 04:50 PM Posted Thursday at 04:50 PM Hi - was looking at the rules on loading shotguns - it says the mag must be loaded with the action closed and hammer down - I assume that it just hasn't been updated for the 1887 lever since you can't load it with the action closed? Second question - the cimmaron 1887 holds 5 in the tube - would it be legal to stage it action open carrier down with a sixth round on the carrier- or how have other people solved this problem. Thanks Quote
Flying W Ramrod Posted Thursday at 08:45 PM Posted Thursday at 08:45 PM From the WB ROC, This will be in the updated SHB when it comes out. "1887/1901 loading procedure verbiage shall read “at the loading table, load as many rounds as 87/01 will hold, up to 6 in magazine and carrier. Close action on empty chamber, hammer must fall unimpeded.” 2 Quote

B*P has had (10 years ago) a light load with a 2.5" shell. Or reload for a short shell. good luck, GJ (Six shotshells, each saving 1/2 inch, saves you a total of 3" - enough for that 6th round to fit!) Edited Friday at 02:51 PM by Garrison Joe Quote
