When competing in Teddy Roosevelt can the  shooter choose for the pistol be either modern or tradition?

It doesn't matter. The only requirements are the rifle

Whoever dreamt-up Teddy Roosevelt and Doughboy should have thought a bit more about the pistol requirements.

Both of these new WB categories should require that they be shot with a Mil-spec 1911, Traditional, single-handed grip - the way the Good Lord and John Browning meant for it to be.
