Doc Holloman Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Looking at the carriage and the size of the barrels, I would bet it is an early gun, 1860s. Quote
Guest Colorado Coffinmaker Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 It's a One Inch Naval Gatling gun, mounted on a Field Carriage. Quote

Do you have any information on it? My research found only the fact that the Army adopted .50 and 1 inch gatling guns in the late 1860s, nothing about a Naval gun. Quote
DUSTY BODDAMS Posted April 29, 2022 Author Posted April 29, 2022 Caption says “ American soldiers with captured gun from cacao rebels Haiti 1915” I knew it was a Gatling but the size of it looked gigantic . I knew somebody here would know what it was. Cool deal! Quote
Griff Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 I don't know of any American "soldiers" that wore the Navy "dixie cup". Quote
DUSTY BODDAMS Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Me neither but that’s what the caption read. Quote
