Pards, WST & Green Dot are both basically shotgun powders but since WST has found to work well with .45 ACP shooters, I"m wondering if anybody is using Green Dot in WB? Both have about the same burn rate, so I'm looking for loads with both 200 gr & 230 gr bullet to meet 150 power factor,  anybody?

On the SASS Classifieds, there is a post on Hollow Base Bullets.  Out of curiosity, I clicked on it and "Bear Creek  Supply" was cited as a source.

Upon further review, on .45 ACP bullets, B. C. S.  stated and I quote "one of our bestsellers, a 200 gr RN without a (STUPID) SWC shoulder, unquote.  Really? I thought the SWC shoulder was vital for .45 ACP dependability?

As I am about to order a supply of bullets I hesitate until more experienced pards chime in concerning the SWC shoulder.

Pards, Thank you, respondents, for concerning my questions on recoil springs. I have put them all in my memory bank. I have an additional question;

when the slide travels rearward, after ignition, and bottoms out, what is the total compressed length of the 1911 recoil spring?

Is there any way to check the "rated" resistance of a re-coil spring?  Also how many rounds would have to be fired, aprox. before the factor of

"diminishing returns"  kicks in with a recoil spring?    Any thoughts?

Boys, I am surprised! According to the SASS wire (merchant corner) mag pads became legal on June 27, 2019, and there hasn't been any chit chat on the WB Form, or am I missing something here?    To be legal the following rules are in effect.(quote)

    1. It's made of natural leather material only 

    2. It is no larger than the contour of the base of the magazine

    3. The total thickness of the base pad may not extend more than 1/4 inch beyond the original base plate (unquote)

Pards; there is some interest in BAMM matches here in So Arizona, as two of our top shooters are involved in it.  Is there a written format for BAMM that

I could download?  Also what are the most popular rifle and calibers used?  There is a local gun show coming up on May 18-19 that I will  check out.

Pards, was wondering, as  I don't have any experience with a Rock Island 1911  my question being

is it serviceable  for WB shooting out of the box, or does it need an action job? Even with an action

job is it a dependable pistol? I realize also that dependably includes the mag and/or loads?

Attended a recent local gun show and as I was making a purchase the Vendor asked what discipline I shot?  I answered SASS and he asked no additional  questions.  So in the future I will answer ACPSS! If the vendor knows anything at all about handguns he will recognize "ACP", or should.  Then I will  explain the acronym which stands for "Automatic Colt Pistol Shootist Society", and wait! :D ;D :)  So do we have our own alphabet named discipline?    :) ;) ;D

That was really funny Joe  ;D I lived in Ill (Chicago) the first 31 years of my life, it would have been funny then and its really funny now! 

Hopefully the WB Ambassadors listen to the masses and adopt the 7 in the mag, if they do that sweep of yours will be number 1 in my book of stages.  ;)

Three years into "Wild Bunch" I decided to upgrade from a 97 to a model 12 shotgun.    Texas Jack of "Gun Traders", Redmond,Or. provided a sweet "12" and Mark Braid of Boise, Id performed the slick gun-smithing !  Shot the first match with it  last Saturday, Tombstone W.B. and it preformed flawlessly!  Kudos to both gentlemen for a great shotgun, and quick service.

Maybe 7 rounds in the mag's & 5 shotgun in lieu of 6 as the norm.  Just saying.  :)    We already had our Prairie Fire here in Cochise County, Arizona, 48,000 acres worth, don't need anymore.  Respectfully

 

  Bordertown W.B. side match drew 44 shooters, 2 posses.  I enjoyed watching some of the best compete, notably;  J.T.  Wild -  GillyBoy - -Zona - -  Garrison Joe  - - Bobcat Brian - - &  Claudia Feather, to name a few. Everybody was a winner!  Four of us were stand alone W.B. Shooters as we didn't shoot the main Cowboy match for whatever reason.  Anyway Thanks to the Bordertown B.O.D. for allowing us to do that.

  Pards;  Acquired a 3# round paper/cardboard canister, metal top & bottom, of Alcan #5 smokeless  shotgun powder.  I can't find it listed on my powder burn rate chart to give me an idea of how hot it is.  Anybody familiar with this powder?  Is it suitable for .45 ACP?  All suggestions will be helpful.
