Public Service Announcement - During our state match, the front site broke off my wife's Ruger while shooting. According to the Internet, this is a "known" problem that I hadn't heard about. Ruger is sending us a replacement part, but I am concerned it may be the same MIM part as the original one, with the same durability problem. I will probably install a quality aftermarket part for peace of mind. For those of you with Rugers, you may want to do an Internet search and consider swapping out your front site.

I am going to put leather pads on the base of some magazines as allowed in the rules. I couldn't find anything in the rules about attachment methods. Two questions: 1) Can I use screws or must I use glue? 2) What glue do people recommend?

Rifle scenario calls for shooting five rounds restaging for later use and then finishing the last five rounds. Shooter shoots 5 rounds and instinctively opens the action and lays the rifle down rather than leaving the action closed on an empty. Per the list of stage DQ's on page 22 this is a SDQ, correct? •Restaging a long gun for further use with the hammer NOT fully down on an empty chamber or fired case and the action closed Why is this different from the August post where the shotgun was overloaded and discarded with extra rounds still in it?

I am wondering what loads people think are most pleasant to shoot (and make power factor without temp sensitivity). I have been loading 230 RN with HP38, but I have run out of powder and I need to decide if I buy more HP38, or make a change. Other powders and lead I have one hand include: Trailboss Tightgroup Clays Clay Dot 230 RN 200 RNFP 180 RNFP If none of those are preferred, I will consider any recommendations you guys have. I acquired a brand new Remington Centennial (2011) that appears to meet all traditional requirements except that it has a small brass bead insert on the front sight. If I remove the bead to comply with traditional requirements, can I put something in the empty hole and still be legal for traditional?
